Hard to believe a booster failed to land, but 23 flights isn’t young! RIP B1062, you did good!

23 flights and then a failure, i think it's fair to say it did pretty damn good.

Great live stream, NSF!

R.I.P., Booster 1062<?>. You done good...🙏

Watching the landing back at slow speed, you can see the leg furthest away from camera, snap under load and shake violently, then it tips in that direction. Seems like it landed too hard, and I would suspect an engine malfunction for the hard landing with all that extra fire. Thanks for the stream NSF!

Thanks for the stream NSF team, great job. It will be interesting to see the droneship when it arrives in port.

2024 is proving to be one of the craziest years in recent SpaceX history. End of F9 mission and booster landing streak, but also Polaris Dawn and potential (successful) Super Heavy catch this year as well.

The Inspiration 4 and Axiom-1 missions were both launched by this booster, on her third and fifth flights respectively, both historic firsts for human spaceflight. It's unusual that a single rocket stage gets to do more than one of these. On top of that, B1062 also launched Nilesat-301, a mission previously assigned to an expendable booster, along with 20 other missions.
She was a good ship.

Bummer landing, but it’s funny how one mishap turns into a disaster, it’s been to space and back 22 times 😂

In slow motion you can see the fire only started when the engine bells impacted the deck (likely rupturing plumbing etc), looks like the rear right leg (from the camera's perspective) didn't lock/deploy properly. Just my speculation of course! RIP B1062, solid career!

It’s incredible how rare these booster landing anomalies have become - mostly cause of how routine booster landings are. 10 years ago we never could’ve imagined a booster flying 23 times, let along landing under its own power 22 times without issue.

o7 B1062. You flew valiantly.

Saw a blip on my newsfeed and immediately went to nsf's most recent livestream- I scanned ahead right to jack going "NO NO NO NO NO NO"!!! R.I.P. 1062.

Love your work NASA Spaceflight. The visuals of 9 Merlins' plumes from launch to space is a thing of beauty. The loss of a booster after 23rd mission of a 135ft structure that goes into space reminds us how remarkable Falcon 9 is and how we become used to futurist dreams come true

thanks for the coverage guys. Can`t believe they lost a booster.
