I'm from Goalpara district of Assam as Nandy ji has said about hierarchical sacrifice I have heard in ancient times in mayong there is a temple name kesaikhaiti Gukhani thaan at the foothills of mayong hill where human sacrifice was practiced the villagers says that in ancient times before the sacrifice the Bali pashu appears by itself he takes bath and let the priest to perform the rituals before Bali and he gets ready for Bali by himself and people do not know from where that person comes and gets ready to be sacrificed and no-one forces him for sacrifice.

Some vaishnav, Arya samaji will come and lecture on Bali .
Bali is essential part of Smarta and Shakta. We are not ashamed. We are not ashamed of anything thatvrelated to Puja Vidhi.

Great Rajarshi Da, don't let north Indian cultural imposition in the name of real hinduism. We gave bali, we ate meat but nowadays these vegetarians are trying to change our culture.

There's a temple in Kerala called " madai kavvu", it's Devi temple. They serve chicken( Bali) as prasadam cooked only in salt and pepper and turmeric. I am a vegetarian but i consume that Prasad and tastes decent.

God Bless you guys, special Thanks to both of you ... the videos are throwing light on so many unspoken unheard and misunderstood concepts of Sanatana ... it can be debated but first one actually needs to understand ... explaining the access we have to cosmos is a difficult task in this time but Bravo .. keep this Saraswati flowing .. it takes a lifetime to understand just a few areas of life .. well done

just because something was written in ancient times about sacrificing an animal - it should not be accepted blindly. please don't catch animals and chop them off.

Bali is of three types Tantric Bali ( the bali which involves actual killing of animals), Smartha Bali(the sacrifice of Kushmanda and Iskhudand), Vedic the ritual of giving tantric bali is still continued at our Purushottama Kshetra, which is taking for example of Maa Adishakti Vimala of Jagannath temple, where the goddess is offered a total of 6 male goats on the account of Durga Puja from Saptami till Navami, when her Upasana is done according to the norms of there are a lot of temples where balipratha still continues for example Alamchandi temple, Dakshinakalikaa temple, Varahi temple, Vishweswari temple, Shyamakali Temple and a lot more, the list is unending.

God said:-
One is considered the best Yogi who regards every being like oneself, and who can feel the pain and pleasures of others as one's own - (Bhagavad Gita 6:32)

God said:-
One who is not envious but is a kind friend to all living entities, who does not think himself a proprietor and is free from false ego, who is equal in both happiness and distress, who is tolerant, always satisfied, self-controlled, and engaged in devotional service with determination, his mind and intelligence fixed on Me – such a devotee of Mine is very dear to Me.
(Bhagavad Gita 12:13-14)

Those, who see God as the Supreme Soul equally present everywhere and in all living beings, do not degrade themselves by their mind. Thereby, they reach the supreme destination.
(Bhagavad Gita 13:29)

That abode of Mine is not illumined by the sun or moon, nor by electricity. One who reaches it never returns to this material world.
(Bhagavad Gita 15.6)

I am a Guwahatian born in a Vaishnava family but I have never visited Kamakhya because I cannot stand the sight of Bali Pratha. That doesn't mean, I am critising or disrespecting the process.

I have no problem with the Tantric school of thought but what I diagree here with Nandy sir here is he justifies meat eating culture which is completely different from the ritual of Tantric Bali requirement.

For instance Sacrifice process is very elaborate with specific mantra but on the other hand he also justifies meat eating person who would Sacrifice in the name of the diety without following due process just to eat meat.

Anyway, today I am much comfortable with the Hatha Yoga and Kriya Yoga school of thought than even the Vaishnava household I am born into. Atleast from the eating point of view, Yogic science know meat is Tamas. Tamsic food is not good if you want to enhance or aquire consciousness.

Everything is true, as I have witnessed these processes since my childhood days at BoroMaa's and ChotoMaa's temple, eventually at Barabelun & Madhyamgram in the district of Burdwan, West Bengal. 😊😊
