Pashubali: Animal Sacrifice in Hinduism - Rajarshi Nandy

The Hindu practice of Pashubali has been widely misunderstood by modern Hindus, informed by a superficial understanding of Sanatana Dharma and they are often found siding with the secular establishment intent on banning the ritual. Not only are these notions silly and inaccurate but also hypocritical.

#Goodnews
The Pashubali, which was stopped by the order of Tripura HC, has been restarted by the BJP Govt. Now Pashubali is taking place in all the concerned temples of Tripura including Tripura Sundari Temple (Tripureshwari Temple), Durga Bari Temple, Chaturdash Devata Bari Temple etc.

Most of the offended people here eat meat everyday .

what an insight. Moral of the video : Let the Devata and Devi decide about their offerings, let's deal with mindless consumerism, it is not a sin to do hinsa if ordered by Shastras. Meat as prasad is an issue for people like PETA, but not as a mindless consumption. Very pinpoint video, thanks.

As simple as that Shaktas are generally warriors. If you see the history Rajputs, Marathas, Dogras, Ahoms, Gujjars etc all are celebrated warrior clans even Guru Gobind Singh Ji metaphorically used the great battle of Durga Maa and Mahishasura to inject veer ras in his Sikhs as “Chandi Di Vaar”. All these warriors has performed balis on various stages and got blessings of Maa. If they haven't done that then all Hindus were surely converted to Islam.

I am a Garhwali. My grandparents got Bali mutton as prasadam when they were kids. Pashu Bali is most important to keep the urga element of Hinduism alive. Else we become too soft. Yes, we can be extracting and penetrative. Pashu Bali should survive anyhow.

Great video thanks ! Nobody has problem with eating meat or Bakri-Eid but everyone wants to avoid PashuBali as if the entire country is vegan except for these regressive shakta Hindus.

Someone claiming kalikapuran does not mention bali. Totally wrong. It has a segment called rudhiradhyaya describing details of various balis from chapter 67 onwards.

Regarding yogini tantra the original tantra was always used in eastern kamakhya and bengal where vamacara and kaulacara is norm. Chagabalitustha is the right description matches with the anecdotal story of the King who got his kingdom back post chagbali in kamakhya pitha.

Other versions of the stotra were created later by those who tamper texts because they are uncomfortable with shastra vakya.

I am from Rajasthan and have seen many people who do bali and eat that meat but the bali is given in proper shastriya form and that meat is not cooked with onion or garlic so it's won't take द्विजत्व even if a dwij eats it.
There is a whole antyaja jaati is there named Khateek who used to supply Jhatka meat to the Hindus in past times Now most of them have abondoned there traditional work as the ambedkerite propaganda started and they lived there traditions for government jobs and other. and that is one of the reason Halal industry getting stronger in Meat Industry, Now in Rajasthan mostly Rajputs are doing this Jhatka meat business and in some places khateek to have retained there traditions.

Nice to see so many snowflake meltdowns in the comments. Pashubali is an integral part of Shakta traditions and shall continue to be. Cope. If you dont't like it, don't partake/ participate in it. Simple. Nobody has given you the authority to take away my rights of worship. Just as I should not shove meat prasad on your plate, you also should not take away my Khadga.

Aithreya brahmana of rigveda and other brahmanas has entire chapters dedicated to animal sacrifice...including type of animal, mantras to be told during scarifice, preparing animal, ways the meat should be chopped and which part of body should be offered into fire with what mantra etc...only idiots who never read scriptures deny it.

Anyone who is against bali is weak and he can not fight wars.
As legends say "Veer bhogya vasundhara" only brave shall inherit earth.

There is pashubali performed at many Sri Urga Narasimha temples. Although the Sri Vaishnava sampradaya won’t agree to that, the common people bring goats and offer them as Bali to the lord.

The grandeur of Sanatana Dharma is that those who favour pashubali and those who are against it, both come under the umbrella of Sanatana. This is the diversity that it promises, not a seeming rational external person who imposes some admittedly questionable practices upon the entire framework of Sanatana criticizing it loudly enough to delude half-informed or uninformed Hindus.

I have great reverence for Sir Rajarshi Nandy. He is the one (among others) who is single handedly bringing forward the Shakta Parampara to common people like us and making us learnt of our very own texts. Thank you Sir and Jai Maa Kamakhaya
