Nothing beats worn in boots brought back to life.

Being a shoe repairman or cobbler is a lost art. I'm glad some people still do it!

This video brought back so many fond memories. My grandfather owned a shoe shop here in Memphis for over 50 years; his nickname was, "Shoemaker." "Shoe" for those who knew him closely. He was ABSOLUTELY a craftsman in regards to shoe repair and anything leather. He made purses, wallets, gun holsters, money clips, etc. He was a true genius. After watching videos like these or hearing people talk of shoe repair, I wish I had learned this craft. My grandfather died with a WEALTH of knowledge concerning this craft. His name was Lafayette Raybourn, and I miss him dearly.

You really got to appreciate the fact that people like you exist. Working to revive the very kings that literally build this country. Thank you.

Reviving old boots is truly satisfying. Cobbler work is a lost art that needs recognition.

God bless the cobblers still out there helping the working man.

It's so refreshing to see a real cobbler still in business in this throw-away society.. My Daddy taught me to save what is worthy and dont buy what isn't! ❤

My brother was a master cobbler. It’s a dying art. You did a fantastic job. Watching this made me miss my brother. God rest his soul.

Man, this is amazing. I’m in construction as well, and I can’t tell you how valuable someone like you would be to my peers and I. I absolutely detest the model of planned obsolescence that all of our products are made with nowadays. I really hope that as our generation becomes the people in charge of industry (politics too) that we’ll see a revival in the old school ways of doing things the right way, and making stuff (and policies) that stand the test of time. Good work, brother!

Boots are such a pain to break in. Getting new life out of some old favorites has got to be such a great feeling

I used to shine shoes for Nordstrom. Customers used to bring their most beat up shoes to me because I took pride in returning the shoe to it's former glory. I did not do shoe repair, but I did take them to the local repair guy, and had many conversations with different shoe repairmen. I give you my total respect for your skill. Awesome job!

That is awesome! My dad owned a shoe store and I can remember taking shoes to the cobbler and getting them repaired. Took me back 40 years to see the old barge cement glue pot in your video!

Respect to shoemakers everywhere! I wish people would realize the value they offer society so that trade would return.

When people try to tell you your work and how it should be done, ,,don’t even pay any mind to it … believe me your work is the best I’ve seen and I’ve seen boot alterations my whole life .. I have a family member that all his foot ware has to be worked on . Don’t listen to the haters they come a dime a dozen… keep up the good work and good video’s..

Bro, that's amazing. I love watching a person that is good at their job. Thanks for not only taking pride in your work, but also trying to influence future generations to do the same.

My dad was a top ranked amateur tennis player in Wisconsin and would take his tennis shoes to a cobbler to get the sole repaired/replaced at the toe portion of the shoe. When he served, he would drag his foot a bit and was always wearing out that part of the sole. He’d drop off a bag of shoes and pick up the repaired shoes every couple of weeks and usually one of us kids would accompany him (Saturday errands with dad). He’d chat with the cobbler for awhile and they’d discuss and solve world problems and then we’d go to his buddy’s house who ran a tennis racket repair and restringing business in his basement and the men would discuss tennis and players. Yes, you’d have to behave yourself but it was interesting watching these craftsmen work and get to listen to them all talk. My dad was a quiet guy and it was something seeing him open up and relax in these conversations; it was neat getting to see him not just as “dad”.

As a former shoe salesman, this is amazing! I wish so bad that I could find someone that does good work like that in this area. Keep up the great work!
