Dude I was sitting here defeated thinking I've tried every possible combination 5 times and then I watched your video and have sound coming through my speakers, you are a lifesaver!

Looking to hook my old (but immaculate) PIONEER VSX-D1S, and CELESTION 100 speakers, to my 65" SONY A80J and SONY 4K Blu Ray player...so this is (hopefully) exactly what I need to do - just a poor man's Home Theater (2 ch and a BOSE Sub) set up - not fancy by any means, but much better then TV speakers

try an eARC DAC if you can, optical is fussy on Samsung, direct from the computer to the amp via the headphone port with Atmos activated is really good.

when everything was connected and i switched over to the RCA channel on the amp there was just a horrible clipping sound in my speakers. Don't know what could be wrong

You have to get the one with 5.1 decoder to get surround

Will both outputs (headphone, RCA) work on the converter at the same time (one to a sound bar, the other to a receiver)?

HELP, i followed the instructions to the letter, tripled checked everything including the tv sound settings and still no sound through my amp and speakers .
the dac power light is on, the optical cable is glowing red, the rca plugs going into the dac and my amp are correct, i set my tv to the proper settings but Nooo sound .

Thank you for your great post. I have the same receiver, and you successfully helped me hook up to my new tv.
I have a sound bar attached to my TV, too. Can I get my soundboard and stereo working together?

Why don't we see the optical cable coming down from your tv? Did i misunderstand something?

About the USB connection, won't the tv itself be able to power the unit? Given the tv has usb, of course.

Hello! I have a 10+ yr old Pioneer Elite receiver, which has HDMI connections available. New TV has HDMI ARC input. Is this the product I need to get them to talk to one another? thanks for posting.

I’m trying to connect thru Hdmi arc port. But still I’m not getting any sound. I have genesis G608 receiver. I order RCA TO HDMI converter. Do you know what settings i should choose ? I’ve sony bravia x80K smart tv. On receiver I’m having Aux option and CD. For dvD it’s totally different cables. I’ve 5.1 surround system
