Ill do this an if i cant get enough leverage ill just pull out the angle grinder an destroy the bolts im replacing a rear cat on a 07 g6 3.5 its so tight an I already stripped the bolts

yeah the irwins are shorter, but you can place a bigger socket on it hence the hex at the bottom. 1/2 3/8 drives dont matter, wrenches could be used. tall studs not an issue.

Hey thanks for this info. What about worrying about breaking the stud, do you ever have to use heat? I have a 454 vette and that is my concern.

Could you have used small torch on that bolt in that area? Do you think it would be safe..like a little lighter torch?

I saw a video of someone using an air chisel to break the bolt. I assume you would need the room to get to it at the right angle.

Rounded stud broken and stuck however I was able remove other part that is nut and half peice stud.. is it good idea to drill thru it .. there is no way I get grip on the rounded head part .. plz advise

Many time, if it is stuck that hard. The stud will break. How do you avoid that ?

Boss man hello. I am also trying to remove a nut from a bolt on a catalytic converter flange. However, the nut on the bolt just turns and turns when i reverse turn. Its not stripped just wont back out.

so my bolts broke how do i get them out, i'm lost with the bolts are stock and i don't want to take the manifold off

Can the extractor cover the flange instead if the nut is severely stripped?

I tried this for the same thing on a 15 mm and I used a 14 and it stripped it worse what do I do

I have the nuts off trying to get the studs out. One of them has been cut
