As an electrical engineer, I appreciate more electricians learning about electronics!

Keep up the great work!

Dustin, you have a gift, breaking things down into easily understandable lessons. Thanks

I do not understand the comment about full wave and half wave rectifiers using a TRANSFORMER to achive "this". Even a bridge rectifier will need a transformer to change the voltage from high to low, say 120 volt ac to 12 volt dc. A transformer drops (or increases) the voltage level and the rectifier converts alternating to direct current. What am i missing?

ty for this visual explanation. it makes much more sense in my brain to visually see it, rather than reading it in a textbook. cheers

This is a great video. It makes so much sense when you lay it out like this.

Okay? I need one of those electronic dry. Erase boards. I thought of a Promethean. Could you share what screen you use?
Thank you kindly

Another (less common) use for bridge rectifiers is to make a DC power input polarity agnostic. It works well as long as you can handle a positive rail voltage about 1.4V less than the input voltage.

If it mimics a DC is there a way to smooth the current after leaving the rectifier create a more consistent flow?

To confuse some people even more the one piece rectifiers on three phase ( 3 line wires ) drives have six diodes and 5 terminals .Have to watch voltage when rectifying AC to DC. The DC voltage will be approximately 1.4 times higher. On 480 volt three phase drives the DC Buss voltage is between 655 to 670 volts DC.

Make a video about recovering washers please. I always punch out to many knockouts 😭

In Chicago we have no codes against bridge rectifiers....because you asked in the last video, about Chicago codes...!!!
