I have been on thyroid meds for 30 years and no one has ever told me these tips. The doctor is having trouble getting my dose right. Thank you for this information

I had hypothyroidism. I thought I had to take medication for life. Not true. In 2013, a chiropractor helped me to restore health to the thyroid, in a short time. It is about the leaky gut and good/bad bacteria in the gut. Recently, a doctor asked me about my thyroid. I told him and he looked at me like I was nuts. He did a blood test and my thyroid is healthy.

Also avoid taking Vitamin D3 and your thyroid medication at the same time.

I fast 18 hours a day. I start at 7:30 at night, and fast until 12:30 - 1:30pm the next day. I take my meds about 6:00am. Thanks for the info!

I have been on Levothyroxine for at least 25 years . I rarely eat breakfast, so for all the years I have taken my meds, I take it in the morning before eating, I normally drink a cup of coffee prior to me taking my meds In those 25 years, my doc had to only increase the dosage once . The only script I take with my Levothyroxine is my blood pressure pill and I have done that for years. My blood work always shows sufficient hormon for my thyroid and my blood pressure always reads normal, so that shows everything is going well and the way I take my meds has been working for me the past 25 + years. I do not do citrus .

Lots of folks with low thyroid also suffer from clinical depression, like me. I've been told that Synthroid does not mix well with many (or all?) anti-depressants. I always take them at opposite ends of the day..

I have been on Levothyroxine for almost 25 years and have always taken it in the morning when get up on an empty stomach, and at least 30 and mostly 60 minutes before I have breakfast. I also shifted years ago to taking any other pills at night before going to bed, including multivitamins with calcium.

Really curious how youtube knew I needed this information. I have not googled the medication and maybe once googled hypothyroidism. Hmm.

I take my pill at 2 a.m. That way my stomach is empty when I take it and I can have breakfast anytime after 6 a.m. when I wake up in the morning. It works for me.

I take mine before bed. I haven't had caffeine, eaten or anything so it works for me. First thing I need when I wake up is a cup of tea, couldn't wait an hour for a cuppa.

Thank you. I help my elderly mom set up her meds. We will be changing some things now.

My doctor changed my time for taking this medicine. I'm taking it at bedtime which is normally at 11, so I stop eating anything at 9 pm. This has helped me keep my numbers low. Hope this is helpful.

I take it at night on an empty stomach. This was recommended to me by my endocrinologist.

Thanks so much for this! I am a retired nurse on thyroid med for 20 years, and most of this was new to me.

My Endocrinologist who was a leading Dr in the study of thyroid issues and widely published had told me to only take the name brand and never allow a Dr to prescribe levothyroxine or generic due to generics are not precise in dosage and can lead to varying tsh levels. Dr Reynolds in Missoula Montana. He has passed away now but he was a very good physician.

58 years ago a doctor prescribed thyroid medication “take every morning with a full glass of water and do not eat breakfast.” Nothing new about that instruction.

I have osteoporosis as well, so I take vitamin D3. Fortunately, I read the leaflet carefully, and found out that you needed to leave 4 hours before taking them if you are taking Levothyroxine. The doctor wasn’t aware of this, so read your leaflets.

I have to thank you for the tips! I've been feeling much better since watching this video and reading some of the comments. I now set my alarm for 5:30 AM to take my thyroid meds and then I go back to sleep. My breakfast normally has a lot of dairy, so I don't eat it until after 9:30; if I have to eat it earlier, I change what I eat. These 2 simple changes have made a drastic difference. Thanks again!😊
