Actually, sitting by yourself isn't terrible like this video makes it out to be.  It's only awkward if you feel that way and make it so.  Sometimes you don't want to sit near people and have an awkward conversation to fill the silence.  I am comfortable with silence - it's others that are freaked out by it.  When I was a temp worker, I used to go to the cafeteria and there would be people sitting by themselves and they'd be cool with it just like me. Or I would just eat at my desk and get to surf the web, or I'd eat then go outside for a quick walk.  This video makes it seem like if you are ever eating alone then you  are considered a freak of nature and you should feel bad about it.  Get used to being put in situations you are not used to, it will help you grow and learn as a person.  Your friends and companions are not going to be there 100% of the time, and then what will you do?

I hate eating alone. Even if there's two of us and the other one leaves to go to the toilet, I suddenly feel like I'm being watched and judged by the way I'm eating, so I start to question if I eat weird.
When I'm not alone I suddenly don't care, it's weird.

I'm such a socially awkward person, but eating alone just makes me feel pathetic and isolated. When I would end up sitting alone (in a cafeteria full of 600 people, most of whom had someone to sit with) it would be so emotionally draining for me that I actually preferred to at least awkwardly sit with strangers that mostly would ignore me. Something about being alone and having no one to talk to while everyone else was happy and sitting together just made me feel like garbage.
Can anyone relate to first day of school anxiety praying that at least one friend had the same lunch period?

It's not an informative video about Eating Alone at Work. It's about how difficult it is to engage with people who want nothing to do with you. The women sitting with the guy have no interest in engaging with her, and the guy isn't allowed to comment on their rejection of her.

And why did the final guy have to make that FACE? She's an attractive girl. It's not like they've had bad experiences with each other. The writer(s) should have axed the facial expression, and shown them making an honest attempt to find something interesting they can honestly talk about (even if they fail to). Not sharing similar interests with a co-worker or stranger doesn't make you less than human.

And lunch breaks are for EATING
