Those "screws" are wormcastings.
They come in very small diameters to up to 6mm in dia; possibly larger.
I know this as a fact in that I found some much better examples in Arkansas 60 years ago; took'em to show and tell @ school, where they were promptly stolen.
Along with a clutch of dinosaur eggs that the showed the hatchlings had beaks w/teeth.
Never saw either till a few years ago I heard my discovery had been "discovered" and fetched a pretty price because of its signifigance.
They had a photo of it; it was my find.
But, what was an 8yo kid to do back then?

Those "parts" in stone i believe are called crinoids. Fossils of an ancient ocean plant that looked like a reed.

The 'screw" is easy to test. Grooves on a screw spiral. Grooves on a crinoid do not since they separate parallel discs. Why is there contraversy?
