Helium vs Hydrogen Balloon

preview_player
Показать описание
Hydrogen was historically used in hot air balloons because of its low density, which provided buoyancy to lift the balloon ⬆️ But hydrogen is highly flammable and can lead to catastrophic accidents if ignited.

There was the infamous Hindenburg disaster in 1937, where a hydrogen-filled airship caught 🔥 Ever since the Hindenburg disaster and advancements in materials technology, helium became the much preferred gas for hot air balloons and airships. Helium is non-flammable, making it a safer alternative to hydrogen.

One small corection:
I had meant to say airship instead of hot air balloon in the video 😅

If they survive, the baby should be named Hindenburg

Maybe they were doing a demonstration of what went wrong with the Hindenburg for their friends.

Imagine finding out that hot air balloons only use hot air, not helium. It's totally in the name. The correct aircraft you are looking for is Blimp.

I've been following you for a while, I remember getting so excited when one of your videos blew up. This one is by far my favorite 😂 such funny reaction.
All the best to you!

reminds me of a blimp called the hindenburg, which was filled with hydrogen instead of helium due to lack of access

It's more fun to use oxygen and acetylene together with confetti. It basically rains instant ash

I'm pretty sure they ran regular air into it too

Clickbait title... It's not a comparison of hydrogen vs helium balloons

I'd like to see they fill the baloon with one part oxygen and two parts hydrogen.

no in hot air balloons we use HOT AIR!

Too bad there wasn't just a little oxygen mixed in.

I think some countries use hydrogen instead of helium...

look it’s helium. wait is it hydrogen?

OH GOD ITS OXYGEN-

They were lucky that it wasnt a stoichiometric mix of H² and O² otherwise it would have exploded instead of just flashing over.

Oh wow. They never heard of Hindenburg.

They filled it with butane, hydrogen would have been worse😂
