Ryan's not slurring, but clearly has a healthy buzz going.

I wasn't even gonna have a drink tonight but I started hitting the scotch once I realized you guys were also getting a little lost in the sauce. My morning self will be thanking you colorfully.

Been playing for forty years.
I got off the tube amp merry go round a few years ago. They’re all too loud. I bought a katana on a lark. Sounds great at low volume levels. Very easy to dial in. Effects are good enuf. No regrets. Playing more than ever.

I listened for 40 minutes and I loved the Taurus analogy.

My first time watching your podcast. I made it all the way through it. Enjoyed it. Thanks.

When you're as old as me, the only instrument amps available were tube driven. Only owned a few solid states since then and never got into their tone. My first pedal was a Maestro Fuzz tone - the first series.

To go back to when the Vox Pathfinder 15R was $110 all day. I know it’s not tube, but at church volume it’s as sweet as any tube. A-B switch between 1 stock and 1 led modded for cleans…. Amazing

Yes…. What a brilliant topic. What I wish I knew…….
It’s taken some years due to costs but the amp is more important than the guitar, given that everything is well set up. It’s much harder to find your amplified sound than it is a great guitar. Electrics are so much better these days and I can get a great sound out of any guitar if I have a great amp. Getting too much wattage is a classic mistake but I grew up in the time of Spinal Tap! Start with a 5 watt and a delay, reverb and overdrive/fuzz.

I have several Peavey amps that are bucket list from back in the day.

First guitar player had a Triumph 60, Amazing amp, a Deuce... Classic (not the Classic 50) there are a bunch when you really get into it.

Peavey built bullet proof stuff back then, if I knew then kinda situation.

My first tube amp was the chassis from a valve King 212 combo. I bought it for forty bucks hoping to use some of the tubes and parts to make a deluxe reverb copy... Plugged it in and the fucker worked. Built me a box to make it a head.

Here's something I wish I knew. Tubes have to be replaced and they are expensive. And I very often forget to turn off my amp...damn!
