"you wallet will likely shrink"
Yes. Because a full wallet is heavier and isn't aero.

Per my good friend and cycling guru:
- Ride more, train less
- Go easy when it's hard, go hard when it's easy.
- Learning safe and proper bike handling is more important than working on your fitness when you're getting started.
- Ride in a way that is safe, courteous, and legal. In that order.

And from my personal experience:
- LEARN BASIC MAINTENANCE. You shouldn't have to take your bike in to the shop for a puncture. Most bike maintenance is beyond easy if you take 5 minutes to do some research.
- Bring more food than you need. Bonking sucks.
- Get a proper bike fit. It's the best $100 you'll ever spend.
- Have fun.

This channel has taught me so much about cycling and I don’t even cycle (yet 🤔)

Edit: I don’t know if anyone cares but just bought a Cheap CX bike for myself. It’s used but got it for cheap, put some 32c tires on it and have taken it for a spin near hear to get the feel since I’ve never even ridden drops before. And man, they take some getting used to I’ve never been that low and far forward on a bike before but after a few laps I felt a bit more comfortable. I’m pretty sure I’ll be upgrading or buying a better bike but for now I’ll build up all the fun and experience on this one. Cheers to GCN and all of you. Ride safe everyone 💪🚴🏻‍♂️

Sleeping in is an activity reserved for significant others. My alarm is set earlier on Sunday then it is on Monday.

Second breakfast is a thing. First breakfast is at dawn, second breakfast is when you get home and your significant other gets out of bed.

on my bald head, my road helmet tan outlines resemble the Rebel Alliance emblem from Star Wars.

This is more like a "how to tell if you're a cycling addict" video, and I managed to check every one of the boxes. I spent more on my timetrail suit than a wedding suit

Love it! Literally drinking out of a cycling mug (gift from parents), with a cycling card on the mantle (from uncle) while watching this.

your non-cyclist friends asking you when you'll do the "tour" even if you aren't a pro 😂

"All your gifts are going to be cycling related" 😂😅 I don't know if I should feel happy or sad if I do decide to get into cycling! Regardless, a gift is a gift! 😁

Interesting to see Ollie progress from extreme Tintin to baby Elvis as the lockdown hair growth develops. Looking forward to the full Ace Ventura in the coming weeks

Never have drank coffee before a ride. I've definitely hit the volcano a few times, but I don't need a pick me up. I don't buy fancy treats for the ride, just fig Newton's or a PBJ. I ride a 20 year old bike and the only upgrades are cockpit pieces and replacing bearings and chains.

Saying that, I love riding on my local roads. Absolutely gorgeous place to ride.

I wish I had known how much of a difference a professional bike fitting made 😂 spent my first two years on the bike so uncomfortable I barely even enjoyed it... Live and learn eh.
