The Sunday roast, the most British dish of all, gets an elevated upgrade at the Harwood Arms, London’s only Michelin-star pub.
Culture Trip’s original video series Hungerlust is a food show that’s not really about food. Hungerlust tracks eight proud locals as they open their kitchens and communities, revealing eight incredibly diverse, culturally important and community-driven dishes, all against the backdrop of some of the world’s most vibrant and culinarily rich cities.

You’ll hear untold family histories and real stories straight from the mouths of these cities’ most knowledgeable people: the locals. Travel from Jerusalem to London to Mexico City and Hong Kong and back; watch proud chefs, bakers and food lovers break bread in Paris, slurp the spiciest ramen in Tokyo, share a fire-kissed stew in Morocco and save one vanishing Austin neighborhood through barbecue. We guarantee you’ll leave hungry.

Wife and I wandered into the Harwood Arms by accident a few years ago when we spent a very touristy day walking around London. Not only was the food incredible but we were there for hours and no one rushed us in the slightest. We sat and chilled and drank wine and had the MOST incredible meal. When the server found out I liked to cook he popped in the back and next I know the chef was at our table and walking me through how to prepare the recipes at home. It’s an incredible place and I’m so pleased to see this video!

This pub isn't cheap. They have a fixed price roast at 50 pounds including desert. Those platters you see are a serve for two making them the better part of 100 pounds worth of food. OUCH !

I found it amusing that a pub's kitchen staff preparing traditional British roast on a Sunday are saying "Oui chef" It's like calling custard creme englais or beef wellington boeufe en croute

This video really captures the quality of great British food and yet it only has 100k views. But the video of a man that runs a pie, mash and jellied eels restaurant gets 12M views and is just full of comments from Americans talking about how bad our food is.
Got to love the Youtube Algorithm.

They stopped being a 'pub' when they got a Michelin Star, started charging £6 for a pint and located themselves to cater to the millionaire toffs and bints of Fulham who treat a trip to the 'pub' like they're on some sort of working class safari, after a hard day poncing about the art galleries and boutiques of the Kings Road.

4:25 I'm not suprised by the comment from the American couple about Yorkshire Puddings. I watched a video of an American who upon trying Steak & Kidney pudding for the 1st time was suprised to learn that the kidney was an actual kidney, and not a bean.

If they are charging £6 for a pint, How much are they charging for a Sunday Dinner, £20 ? £30 ? £40 ?

The reason they are going out for Sunday roast is because they cannot cook the soapy JR’s

If you know what you are doing a Roast is best cooked at home, and served immediatley, not kept " warm" under lights. Meats don't sit well.
