From what i can understand, it doesn't make sense having death before Adam's fall. If you have death before sin, then you're saying this is the way God made it. And when God looked at everything & said it was very good in Genesis 1:31, I don't think it's very good for the zebra to have the lion tear its guts out. And why were lambs or ox's sacrificed, isn't that an example of an animal dying for man's sin? Also in Genesis 3:17-18 God literally says the ground is cursed. Romans 8:19-22 "For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now." All the evidence suggests that the whole creation was effected, not just all men.

No, Frank. There was NO death before sin. After God made creation He said it was GOOD.

I like Frank a lot and have the uttermost respect for him, but I disagree with this point. Anything that Adam was given dominion over was affected by his sin. See Romans 8 about the restoration of creation.

In order for the world to have death there must be accountability.

Everything under Adam's dominance fell with him, the land was cursed the animals turned to each other etc...

This is just blatantly wrong. Let the Bible speak for itself.

“And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day” (Genesis1:31, ESV).
Would God look around at dead and dying animals and declare it “very good?”

I disagree with Frank. I don't see how this is in context ? Genesis is clear the spirit of man during the fall died in the garden along with creation. God set eternity in our hearts why would there be death in a
perfect environment? Death is separation from our Heavenly Father. Remember God is God all knowing. Man doesn't always have the correct answer in life God would not be God if he did.

Death came unto the "world" it says through Adam.

Frank is great...but this is a complete failure to read scripture and it will cause many to stumble. Genesis 1:31 states everything was VERY GOOD when God was completed. Neither death nor sin are very good... Also, Genesis 1, Exodus 20:11, Hebrews 4:4 all say it was THE seventh day, not the 7 billionth day. Even the guy asking the question said he "was struggling" to reconcile the two, and rightly so, evolution and creation are complete opposites.

There is no problem. Evolution is false. God said "if I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe when I tell you of heavenly things."

This one was quite weak to be honest. It literally says in Romans 5:12: "When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam's sin brought *death*, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned." The Bible is very particular here. Cause and effect: Adam sinned, therefore, death entered the world and spread to everyone. There's no room for creative reading here. Also, keep the context in mind. This verse doesn't fit in a passage that tries to explain what happened during the creation of heaven and earth, a theme present in this question.
So in conclusion: no, there was no death before sin. Death is clearly a *result* of sin.

If there was death before sin and macro evolution is true, at what point was the precursor to humans as we know them today imbued with a soul that needs to be saved? Meaning, at what point in the evolutionary cycle did the individual soul come into existence? Or do any animals, including the precursor to humans, have souls that need saving? Christians who are proponents of macro evolution need to provide correct answers to these questions with evidence. Correct interpretation of the bible and macro evolution are not compatible.

Frank, there was NO death before sin. Did you know that we were to be immortal and never die?

The first rule when reading the bible is you take it literally unless it's clearly stated that it is poetic. Still, even when it is poetic it can be taken literally. Especially when reading Genesis, Genesis is HISTORY. When it says days it means 24 hours, no exceptions.

These kind of questions come from and strengthen the "I have to understand everything with my Carnal Mind or I can't believe."

How was the world (and specifically even the Garden) perfect before the fall if death existed? In my understanding it seems that God's definition of perfect does not include death, regardless of human or nonhuman

Oh smh. Has he forgotten that the wages of sin is death?

You're defending an unbiblical view, there's good counter arguments against evolution. Read the book Genetic entropy as a starter, this dude usually has some good points but this isn't one
