Cheese truck crash closes part of E-470...

E-470 has reopened after a cheese truck crash closed the southbound side of the highway near 96th Avenue.

The crash happened around 5:30 a.m.

The Colorado State Patrol said the truck hit the bridge at 96th, then crashed in the center median and the trailer split in half. More than 1,000 pounds of cheese spilled out.

Cleanup took more than six hours.

The Colorado State Patrol said a piece of specialized equipment had to be brought in to remove the damaged trailer.

The driver and a passenger were not injured.◂
