Today we are going to talk about productivity on Linux, Video Editing, Audio editing, and just productivity in general, the beautiful task switcher on GNOME Desktop. You see Linux is much better at organizing your system resources than Windows is and therefore your overall experience can be much smoother and faster, maximizing your productivity. The issue is a lot of windows software that we are used to doesn't work on Linux and therefore I am also going to give you a list of software that people have been giving me in the comments section. I hope you enjoy the video :D

Productivity tips: Adobe does not support Linux ( apart from Substance ) it will not work. Recommended Linux video editors.... Kdenlive, Lightworks and Boris FX, DaVinci Resolve, Cinelerra. ( Resolve has install instructions on the PopOS website. An LTS Kernel and the Pro Drivers are required for AMD, Pro drivers suck for gaming, this is why we use more than one Kernel )

Audio editors: LMMS, Ardour, Bitwig Studio. Jack Audio, Pipewire Audio.

Thank you for the comment :D

"I was one of the early adopters of Linux", ok Linus, I've been using Linux probably since before you were born XD

I'm actually in the beginnings of launching a small business entirely off of Linux. I wanted to use Mint but switched to Pop as it handled our required software without any tweaking.

I want to reduce complexity and risk so we only run native software with no VMs or wine.

Audio - Bigwig (best DAW on Linux by lightyears)
Video - DaVinci Resolve
Others - thunderbird, Gimp, pSensor,

I'm exploring Nextcloud implementation for the near future and hoping to also use Xonotic and OpenRA for team building :)

Ubuntu is perfectly reasonable and fine the "data mining" is really collecting stuff you search and selling adds just like Microsoft and Apple and Google do with their OS. However contrary to them, you can turn it off.
Still if you don't mind I would recommend keeping it on. It is one of the best ways to support a Linux company.

Also I 100% agree with you, we need the Adobe package on Linux.

You may check other Desktop envoierments for productivity like I3, its make so you always see your programs in the grid, good for terminal/text work. If you like vim for example (terminal advanced text editor with commands)
Other DE you just dowland in packet menager and switch them at login.

I am a so called Linux - Fanboy and I don't mind this term. I really like how so many new Youtubers popped out the last few month and started doing Linux Videos. Maybe I am living under a rock however, I appreciate your efforts 😊.

KVM ? ... isn’t a Virtual machine much slower?

If you want your own "studio" with different video, photo and audio editing software then you should run Ubuntu Studio in a VM or install it on a secondary PC.

And can I post survey for not linux users?

I run Manjaro as my host and run Windows 10 as a KVM/VFIO and use it for gaming/VR including running something as heavy as Microsoft Flight Simulator in the VM. I also stream my games to all other screens in my home from my Windows VM through Moonlight. Only caveat is that "DO NOT" use AMD cards to passthrough to the VM. Just use Nvidia cards. AMD cards are fine for the host Linux.

* Thinks Kdenlive runs amazing *

I use Kdenlive and personally love it but the day Kdenlive stops crashing is the day Microsoft goes bankrupt.

To be fair, when Kdenlive crashes (for me at least) it's more predictable, unlike Adobe doing weird shenanigans.

For me productivity is kinda workable, even if you have problems having an alternative to a windows software you can use a VM, but this wont happen to competitive videogames since most of them have ant kind of anti-cheat that can't run over wine or other alternative, in the other hand AAA games with some years can be played with minor problems.

17 years with Linux and never brought any Windows baggage along with me. I'm 100% Linux. All Linux applications and even Linux games. Linux has great games. Been playing Linux games since July 15, 2003. The day I switch to Linux. Just learn the new Linux applications and don't compare them with Windows applications. I'm using MX Xfce as my Linux distro. Keep Windows as is and just run Linux in a VM. Enjoy Linux.

Why do you say KVM? Do you acually mean VM? KVM means: Keyboard, video & mouse! ???

Most games and software i want and i use everyday is available on linux and i love gnome desktop
I just wish valorant and some other games with similar anticheat would work on it and we could get rid of xorg for wayland on nvidia so i could switch to linux as my primary os but for now windows 10 it is

just sharing my opinion using linux for multimedia production especially in game production.
programming is pretty good and easy because you can get everything by just using terminal.
3d modeling and animation in linux is good. Blender 2.9 easily can replace maya and 3ds max for me, but not zbrush.
2d asset production is okay (im using krita for raster base and gravit for vector base) but the feature in those softwares is limited compare to photoshop and illustrator.
video production is good (im using resolve and olive). but resolve cant read some codec (in linux) this is annoying in professional production.
music production is sucks, the code and vst plugin is limited. i think, linux cant beat windows in this category, but maybe it will get better in the future.
