I was very weak and had no energy with constant stomach pain because I always tried to avoid salt intake. Not ideal. Your body needs salt

🤷🏽‍♀️ If I was to only eat 500mg of salt, I would not sleep because I'd be continually woken by severe cramp in my legs. When I gave up highly processed foods, I had to start adding salt to my coffee just to get enough. The problem is the diet, not the salt.

I never salted my foods, ate "unsalted" everything all my life until several years ago when I kept almost passing out everytime I rose from sitting. It was very bad, & I was an active walker.
I had to add some salt and my dizziness went away.

Docs, you guys ought to read "The Salt Fix" by James Dinicolantonio (pharmacist). It's the sugar rather than salt.

P.O.T.S person here, salt is the reason i dont pass out when getting up. Salt is vad if you eat processed food. If you cook your own, youll be fine. Plus, tons of people, like me, need salt !!!

I'd edit that a little: don't put down the salt. Actually add salt to your food if you like. Just make sure you use actual foods instead of ultra processed food so that most of the salt you eat is what you add yourself.

Too much sugar and carbs causes high insulin levels. Insulin causes retention of electrolytes, salts. If you consume less sugar, insulin is lowered, retention of salt is lowered, blood pressure goes down significantly.

The problem with salt is that it is in high amounts in processed food and restaurant food. If you mostly cook your own food, you regulate your salt intake and you can easily measure 1, 500-2, 000 mg per day.

Salt overconsumotion is common but its also damgerous not to have saltr. If you eat processed food you are good for sodium..but a lot of people eat heskthy whole fresh foods. And if you do not consume salt as i didnt because of this blanket advice to never eat salt...it csn make you very unwell. Extremely unwell. Your body needs salt every day. Very important mineral.

This is good advice if you have a horrible diet but if you eat healthy and drink plenty of water good salt is great for you and provides minerals and iodine to your body and helps you absorb the water you drink. Don’t use table salt eat Celtic sea salt would be good advice

It depends on the person ... My doc said I had low sodium in my blood ...I was having issues sleeping. I add extra salt into my electrolyte water(electrolyte powder has salt in it already but I add a pinch more...)
