Just in case anyone stumbling upon this trailer is curious what the film is about: I could be snarky and tell you YOU HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL FRIDAY AND SHOW UP PROMPTLY OR ELSE 😅 but I do feel the need for a bit of context since folks may not be familiar with how this all started. Basically, this project is a love letter to Second Life to coincide with SL20B, it is told through many many different voices, tons or archival material but also focusing on the perspective of 17 residents who came forward during the initial casting call. The amazing thing of this - if you will - "random" process of selecting "first come first serve" as main interviewees: I was able to present a mosaic of SL that while based on (many hours) of interviews with these folks is very representative of my own personal mosaic that has emerged in my head over the many years I have been trying to make sense of the magic of SL through presenting these types of (short and long) documentaries. The folks presented in the film shape the world as we know it with their work today. They are driven, they are passionate, they come from all walks of life. Anyways: I pitched a 10 minute short, wrote a 120 minute outline after the initial rounds of interviews and Linden Lab let me produce a 47 film that I hope will be a nice little birthday present for everyone. I always feel inspired when I see your documentaries about SL! I recently cancelled my membership and uninstalled SL because I was just feeling overwhelmed by how complicated mesh avatars can be and big time imposter syndrome because I feel like I can't keep up with other creators, artists, etc in world. Being unable to afford space to play, or even avatars was really dragging me down (even though it shouldn't be about that) also RL stuff has become really stressful and all of my friends left SL years ago. Idk. I've always felt like SL was my home, to a degree, so maybe watching this will remind me why I loved it so much in the first place. I'm really looking forward to watching it! -Ajahli
