Here's an overview of how I make frozen snow clumps, ice and sludge patches using Galeforce 9's snow scatter and Secret Weapon's crushed glass. .

You can't really see it too well in the video itself but once you inserted the photo stills, it really became clear what an awesome effects these techniques give. Great tutorial, Mel (as always), and if it's not too much work, inserting these kinds of photos is really worth it for the viewer. Thanks, mate!

Looked brilliant, the sludge and ice with the dirt mixed in was bang on, well done and thank you for sharing.

Since i don't do Facebook i'll ask here: I tried to see if you had a tutorial on Ice formation. I need to create some markers, a unit i have can create ice pillars... and so far everyone seems to be using polystyrene. I was wondering if you had a video with something that does look a bit better? I tried the search function, but it seems you don't have a lot on ice and snow beyond the frostgrave board. Or would you too use basically high density foam like you did on the crystal clusters?

I'm saving this for if I get around to do some terrain for some Battle of Bulge gaming.

Would you say that mod-podge + snow flock gives approximate the same result as does the GW's Valhallan blizzard? I'm looking for better and cheaper ways to cover my bases and terrain with snow.

This is great! Thanks Mel! Did you ever do a follow-up with the final layer of snow - or is there pictures somewhere? :) Would love to see the piece completed!!

Has anyone used Snow spray -the stuff people spray over their windows, etc. at Christmas. I knew someone a few years back swore by it if he had any winter  scenery to do.  No idea where he is now but he claimed it stayed white -but he used it for wargaming terrain not dioramas where you need a much better finish.  Just wondered.

Hello Mel,
again a very nice tutorial. There is one thing that gives me a headache though. It's a phrase you are using and that I don't understand. You use it at 4:36 and it sounds like "watch color". Can you please write it out for a poor non native speaker? :-D
