Once again Dan, your video content is more than interesting! I’ve watched this several times, and helps me to feel warm on this cold SoCal night!
Beautiful video!

My man has a lot of faith in that crucible lip. I was a little nervous imagining a little snap. Good for him.

I have dreamed about smelting and blacksmithing since I was a boy. I need to pursue that as a hobby

Hopefully you get that residual gold that was still in that pot.

That furnace is how my pillow looks in summer.

Hope you get a crucible tongs real soon, that hurt me to watch you lift it like that

@Dan Hurd, for 1 million subs, you should do a giveaway. A week or longer with you prospecting. I would be split between digging and taking in the views. Keep up the great work.

please be careful with that Kaowool Dan... the fibers that come off during heating are not good for your health

I have seen a guy use a torch on the molten material while doing the pour
it seemed to really help the flow out of the crucible

as someone who has used furnaces for bronze casting i have seen Crucibles break in the furnace average temp for white hot like that is 2200 f -they get old and brittle over time you can hear the crucible react to the cold plyers on the hot crucihble huge risk you would be better suited to get a proper lifting rig for it, molten metal is not your friend .

can overly hot metals evaporate and loose any of its weight or density? could it effect it's metallic propertys?
