Arknights Story Summarized | Vigilo - The Doctor's Past and Present

Vigilo, or As I See, is about the Doctor, Kazdel, Babel, and Rhodes Island, along with Hypergryph's long-overdue reminder that yes, you're still a main character.

This video will go over the six stories in Vigilo: two about the Doctor flexing their brain, two about the Doctor's life on Rhodes Island, and two about the Doctor's past in Babel. As usual, there are questions left unanswered, but we've also gotten a lot of insight into the person from whose eyes you view the world.

And lastly—
Everybody asks "Who is Priestess" nobody ever asks "How is Priestess".

I'm finally done reading everything in Vigilo, and I gotta say, it shattered our initial beliefs of who the Doctor was back from Darknights Memoir, this Doctor is more grounded, like Kal'tsit, and actually prioritizes both safety and authority within Babel.

The Doctor now has shown that he still retains some aspect of his pre-amnesia self, even if he is sub-consciously aware of it. The last record in Vigilo really showed us that the Doctor is irreplaceable, and Amiya, planning to save us from Chernobog, is actually a decision not just surrounded for plot convenience.

sometimes the person you are now is better then the person you once were. while the doktah benefits from his past skills he is a better person after he lost his memories and when you are part of a group that wants to save people, becoming a gentler person is a lot better then someone who uses people as tools as means to and end. my personal theory is he gave up his memories willingly as he might have figured out that if he stayed as he was they would not reach the goal they wanted, self sacrifice. it would make for a good story plot point imo

Interesting tidbits I found:
- Doctor willingly entered the sarcophagus the first time
- Only Pre-amnesia doc is shown in cutscenes but not post-amnesia doc
- The days that PRTS mentions is about 4.2 trillion years or it's just a joke
- Doc wore the same visor and hood back with Priestess, I always thought his body isn't used to the weather of Terra after waking up so he wore one
- The story dialog that PRTS tells Closure is kinda similar to the very first dialogue when you start the game.

My headcanon for pre amnesia doctor is that he’s basically Ayin from lobotomy Corp who is willing to let his employees died for the sake of moving forward

After seeing the titles of the 6 Mini-Stories in the Vigilo Mini-Event, I feel like there is a hidden message our past self(The Pre-Amnesia Doctor) wants to convey to us(Post-Amnesia Doctor).

Who knows maybe it's all according to his plan or not as the pre-amnesia doctor is a person who is insanely smart.

So PRTS has a certain amount of free will, it just pretends not to. As it fulfilled the request Dokutah asked for, just in a way they couldn't see it. My theory is that PRTS is Priestess, not too different from GladOS and Caroline from Portal.

Really liking that they made us(The Dokutah) actually more interacting or rather per say us rather than the given story.

Do we actually wanted to know who we are? It's a great existential setup they built there and probably will be answered on the ending of the next arc, in the future or never answered it at all.
