Well hail, that was a pretty epic day! We were in Cooke City last summer and had a nice lunch there, right after the flooding. Couldnt make it up to Goose Lake because we had our Tremor vs the Heep, but still so pretty.

Thumbs up for going for it down that rocky ravine with hail on it! Beautiful scenery. Hope to get there someday.

your video came up as a suggestion, well done, great footage of that storm and a beautiful, unique area. Nice Jeeps to boot!

At one time, there was a cable tram that brought ore from several thousand feet up on the mountain down to the furnaces for processing. The lava appearing material is slag. The mines became infeasible during WWII. There's still gold to be had. I sluiced in the area several times and made about thirty cents an hour.
Sure love this video. It made me sure I'll go back. I don't know if you went past the goose lake road turn and up lulu pass, but do if you get the chance, take it. It's beautiful and not near as rough. You can make a loop around to the highway where you started .

Another awesome adventure, the scenery in the Beartooths is beautiful. The Thunder in the high country has a unique sound, you can feel it all the way through your body.

Thank you many times over. I lived in Cooke city for 2 years back in the early 70s. I spent a lot of time around goose lake. I went to grasshopper glacier and around the lake. The old copperking mine was over by little goose lake. I was in there last summer(22) in a side by side. The road hasn't gotten any better. The video is a treasure to me. Very well done.

My hubby and I binge watched about 10 of your videos yesterday. We really enjoy your photography, sense of humor and conversations. Elaine, you are a hoot. I'm a rock hound, too, and I've been known to walk into a tree because my head is down all of the time. Looking forward to more videos!

I'm glad you risked the drone... that is some INCREDIBLE footage. Simply stunning. I've not gone up that way before. I've gone over by Henderson Mountain but never up toward the lakes. I have gone up to Ivy Lake on the Wyoming side though. I'd love to get a canoe up there for a paddle/portage trip up that chain to Fox Lake. That would be incredible. Great video guys!

Ben Franklin flew his drone in a rainstorm….it was hit by lightening and history was made …perhaps you too are making history right there in the Beartooth Mts. (-;
