I was visiting Los Angeles when this occurred. Coming from the prairies of Canada, we aren’t used to this, so it was quite scary.

It clearly show these 2 mountain ranges that are broken apart, The top 1 runs from WA, Down to Ca. closest to the water, next on is father inland 1 from Northern Ca. down to about Redman

Amazing how an event (earthquake) thousands of miles away as impact all over the world.

it really depended where you were, and the geography of the coastline and sea floor to see how high it was when it hit the west coast. we had some places where it was 2 feet above normal, which may not sound like much, but that is still fairly big. though not as big as it was at the shorelines in japan, so close to the epicenter. a 1 foot tsunami wave can do alot of damage... it is not like a normal wave, because of the ammount of power behind it compounds quick.

Wasn't a huge "push" however having lived close the this beach my whole life and been surfing it for over 10 years I have never see the tide out that far. Check 0:56 for the tsunami breaking on the "outer bar/ reef" There was one very noticeable "push". I'm happy it wasn't destructive, though that is whats impressive

In the day that I read your original comment, I saw that comment in at least 3 different videos I watched, and pretty much every reply was someone saying how they're tired of everyone saying that all the time. I'm just warning you, if you want to keep using that line, be my guest.

@XXThePlatinumXX A tsunami has nothing to do with the size but how it's created.

Tsunamis are actually very rarely high.

@MrGeassR2 yeah but it came from a far place and there was probably a deep ocean floor so it wouldn't be such a dramatic wave.

All i need to know is: when theres a tsunami and your at the seaside and your in the water and its coming can you dive under it like any other giant wave? so then youll be safe? then youll be behind the wave right so youll be ok. i hope you awnser me Thanks :)

@ArtifactProductions Thanks for getting out there on the "avenues" to cover the story (I'll assume you motored down on the scooter). Kinda neat to see the set feather on the outside reef . That was grim to hear about the photographer in Oregon, and the local damage (the Marina). Farther south in SoCal....locals were monitoring beach conditions...and the public agencies did an outstanding job in providing both service and protection to all our residents.
