Kilamba city in Angola is not a ghost city anymore, I live here for two years now, everything runs perfect, from electricity, water, roads, etc🙂

Over 90% percent of the building material used to build this gigantic church were imported from China as in everything else. African leaders would rather send their children to study at the top institutions, in foreign first-world countries than building top-level institutions of learning in their home countries. It is the same approach with access to quality healthcare, infrastructure, etc. We are not entirely doomed, we urgently need to replace these old, inept politicians we votw in power. In fact, we are as stagnant as we are now because of career politicians. We need, young capable leaders. Those leaders should emerge from within our societies. Nobody will save us, we are capable to do so ourselves. It shameful living in a continent with such an abundance of the world's arable land, instead of investing in a large scale industrialization, manufacturing, modern farming, building road networks etc, that is on par or even rivaling that of first-world countries. We would rather build a foreign-owned mega-church. People will pray in that church, with the hope of being blessed with job opportunities while they could had built a huge manufacturing plant that would have changed their socio-economic conditions. It is disgusting, distasteful, backward & barbaric.

Corruption and lack of accountability will eventually crippled the peace, stability and democracy that has prevailed in Ghana 🇬🇭. Over the years huge sums of money borrowed and invested in road construction but nothing to show for it, iner- region roads are still single lane causing head on collusion with high deaths. Road construction contracts are given to party officials instead of road contractors, and roads built deteriorate after six months and nobody is held accountable.

For the life of me, why the heck is Kilamba a failed project?!? Tens of thousands of people live there, in more than decent conditions!

Post colonial governments in Africa tend to do secondary things before primary things, that is why farmers in Africa still struggle with primitive tools to their work, while resources are disbursed on presidential jets and other luxuries for the ruling elites.
Africa a continent with vast arable land imports more food than export, and known as a place of starving people.

300m on a cathedral 🤦🏿‍♂️. I'd rather it just be a museum housing culture and African artifacts. At least it could bring tourism labeling it the Largest museum in Africa. But nope, let's just build a religious building with architecture that doesn't even resemble Africa. No wonder we got colonized 🤦🏿‍♂️

So many homeless people in Africa and they have these huge citys.
Crazy.

The dozens of individuals who pocketed funds would disagree the projects were wasteful. In fact, they’re wondering why governments don’t build more mega projects.

Replace the Basilica in Yamoussoukro with the Ajakuta Steel Rolling Mill in Kogi State Nigeria. You will not believe how much General Muhammadu Buhari wasted when he overthrew the democratic government of Shehu Shagari 31st December 1983.

The Angolan project is now a viable project as more and more people are buying apartments in the new city

How is the Angolan housing project wasteful if people have moved into the housing development and the town is now growing? Why are we so negative about our progress as Africans? Again, how is that wasteful?
Africa's population is set to double in the next 30 years, and all these people will need housing, healthcare, food, education, sanitation, and entertainment etc. Angola should use their oil dollars to build those houses now before demand for oil tanks in the globe because of nuclear and solar energy, and electric and hydrogen fuel cars.

Ajaokuta steel industry in Nigeria was abandoned for many years. But the government sunked so much money in the project yet it didn't take off.
