What? Master Studies are so unoriginal? No, no, no... it´s about learning, improving and standing on the shoulders of giants 🌱 I will make a Master Study / Master Copy by two famous Painters: Edgar Degas and Edouard Manet. One of the paintings is called „In the Conservatory“ which hangs in the alte Nationalgalerie ( Old National Gallery ) in Berlin. And of course, I will take you to that Museum too to see the painting! My master studies will be done in Watercolor / Gouache. As always a cozy Art Vlog with struggle, motivation, inspiration wrapped as a story aaaand the narrator is back too ☺️ Enjoy!✨

I do exactly that: I paint copies of the impresionists masters. Another motivating factor is visiting the museums and galleries. I used to go with a sketch book to the Metropolitan Museum in New York.

I’ve been doing this lately, I’ve sketched and drawn the same piece over and over again for the last 5 days, and everytime I draw, the proportions get better, the shading getting better, my eyes get sharper, I start to understand taking my TIME, realizing I won’t create a masterpiece the first try, it takes studying, understanding, patience, and letting my guard down. Accepting that “perfection” takes failure, and failure should be accepted as a learning lesson.

Keep your head up, this can be applied in life as well.

I barely can draw stickmans, so I always get frustrated when I'm drawing. But your videos make me want to improve, following step by step. Thank you for being such a good inspiration <3

Her line “ Order in Chaos “ has such deep meaning to it. Valerie you are such an inspiration to Artists like us who have just started painting just as an hobby. Your videos make my mind calmer. Please upload videos every week.❤️

I love how your videos aren’t just about your art but how it integrates with your life. I went to school to study art and, honestly, my teachers were mostly pretentious. We spent the majority of our time talking about the definition of art than the actual process or what it means to be an artist. Art is life and it’s refreshing to see someone so genuine. Unfortunately, my professors left me with more spite than appreciation for the current art world, but your passion is invigorating. Everything you do has such clear intent, on and off the canvas. Really inspiring. Thank you.

Anytime she gives us information about how she uses pencils, brushes, ect. It makes me want to try that technique, and her going to museums makes me want to go there, or go to a library for inspiration.
Thank you Valerie, I shall depend on you to inspire me(which always happens)

WOW you were able to go visit the original painting in your local museum how awesome is THAT! That's truly a blessing! Divine providence. Amazingly you definitely were able to see close up and personal the Artist s strokes and colors and different perspective as well and use of lightning too! I learned that you mentioned about 👂 ear was off perspective of her features an had to correct that . So look at that before detailing good to know that thank you! It obviously helps to correct it early on . Good eye for that!! Also baking a banana bread bring beautiful aroma of baking into home making for comfort and relaxing for your well being and cooking a good meal as well. And going with your mood and working on house work and chores help you with your creative time as well. I do that too. I have to be in mood to paint other wise it's just doesn't work out Art wise! Your awareness of that is so helpful for your positive energy flow into your Artwork. I enjoyed your video this morning very enlightening. Your pencil sharpness WOW! A little scary looked like a weapon! At first glance! But you have your own style with use of pencil I never thought of that sharpness to be easier for application I use pencil sharpener only but you customized it for YOU! That's awesome! Good idea! As well.

Hi Valerie! It's really encouraging to see that young people like you admire the masters. Nowadays, on IG masters are forgotten, young people want simplicity without seeking the essence of painting and drawing. Thank you for sharing all this exceptionnal video with full of advices.😂

Today I had a very difficult day. The kind of day you wake up and feel like nothing is worth it. But your video helped me a lot and I ended up making a cake for me and my parents. And I think I'm going to crochet or paint after watching your video. Thank you so much, honestly <3

This whole video is a masterpiece in itself. I felt more motivated after watching you work and I actually learned something new! Not just the premise of the video but also your brushstrokes. I’ll definitely implement them in my future works. Thank you so much Valerie! This’s a gem 🤍
