I totally agree with your comments about the Melanurus wrasse. I bought one to address a red flatworm issue I had and that wrasse ate them all over the course of a few months. Fantastic fish and pretty to look at too.

I can confirm one of the wrasses defiantly worked as not a single monti has any damage in my display tank where the wrasses are, but I put a small test monti in my sump away from the wrasses and while I was on holiday they have chewed holes in it. I've since thrown that piece away and my tank appears monti free again.

That so true about damsel fish, I was scuba diving with stingrays and sharks and the only thing attacking me was a 4 inch damsel fish

Glad to see my Foxface is not the only one to blow bubbles at the surface of the tank. Another good invertebrate to control algae is an abalone, I have one in my 350 litre system, and I sit and watch it doing laps after the lights have gone out. Constantly eating any algae it comes across. Only downside is, they are like bulldozers and will knock anything out of their way

Oh man, all those jack o lantern frags at 8:37. I love this coral but it is so hard to come by in the UK, and if you do find some it can be quite pricey. Anyway, I digress, very informative video I always look forward to new tidal gardens uploads. Keep up the good work.

hello guys, i think Natural approach is more experience in reef tanks ( might be expensive experience ) . and i do agree with your information. wrasses are super cool in removing worms . and pods :P . i have a sixline . my yellow tang is not very good with algea it prefers the nori sheets or flakefoods.. my bicolor blenny is very good with algea on the glass with the help of my trochus snail . you can see the marks of the lips all over the glass. i think the best way to control is to add diversity to the tank . pods are important i think in algea control . to keep them in tank always better than not having them .

again thanks for the info and keep it up.

Than, my 6 frags that I picked up from you a few weeks ago are doing great. Thanks again. They really seem to like my kessil light. Truchus snails are total savages when it comes to algae removal. I've had two med sized ones in my 20 gallon for about a year now they eat EVERYTHING other than my nemesis: cyano bacteria :/ Keep the vids coming!

I love the video Than and I have found out the hard way that keeping a Copperband is very hard. Mine was free of illness to the eye, ate mysis shrimp with vigor and appeared to be very healthy. Then I came home from work and it was dead. Sad day indeed.

For algae control I have a foxface, a tomini tang, and 2 tuxedo urchins.
I feed my cbb with frozen mysis mixed in a bowl with the reef from the tank itself and zoo planktons. I keep this solution mixture refrigerated and make a supply for 3 days.
Other inhabitants: a filefish, 2 cleaner shrimps, a naso tang, a lubbock fairy wrasse, mushrooms and pulsing xenia. On rare occasion the filefish does nip on the xenias, but so far xenia still doing well.
This is a 200G tank excluding the sump.

Damsels I love them because they killed my flatworm problem in a week!

Oh and I agree about Tangs being monumental jerks. Had to remove a Yellow from my tank because he thought he owned my 90 gallon.

In my experience Damsels and Clowns always attack my hand in the tank. It doesn't hurt, but it's enough to surprise you and cause a natural reflex which almost always results in my knocking over a rock or some coral.

Way of describing the chemiclean bomb I need to do that in my Red Sea S Max 650, mind you couple weeks ago I had a power outage for two hours and I notice that the ciano bacteria was lifting from the sand, immediately something click in my mind, I had an extra 15 gls of salt water and I started taking all that bacteria, I wasn't able to clean it all but after that my tank looks more cleaner than other methods that I used before all of them mention here by you in the video. Now is being couple weeks after that mayor cleaning but still there not as before but definitely am going to use the bombshell. Thank You.
