Labour is back in power with a big majority and some big promises. The new government says it will fix the NHS, grow the economy and build thousands of new homes, but right now money is tight. There are also challenges abroad as war continues in Ukraine and the Middle East.

With behind-the-scenes access to the new chancellor Rachel Reeves and key cabinet players, Laura Kuenssberg follows Labour’s first days in office. They say the country is broken, so can they fix it?

Laura goes on a quest to find a new phone’s worth of WhatsApp contacts after her old phone becomes useless in a night

That was a party political broadcast on behalf of what's left of the tory party

Such a biased report by LK as usual. Very negative against the new Labour government! She’s not giving them a chance but is a Tory apologist

They dont have to get to the finish line in the first term, they just need to show positive change.

It is somewhat telling that nowhere does the report offer any evidence that the situation is better than Labour portrays. I don't recall Ms Kuenssberg being so sceptical of Boris's oven ready Brexit back in the day either.

It was great to see Toriessberg's face when the Exit Poll came out, she had a face like she was sucking lemons at the demise of her darling tories.

Who is LK to sit in judgement on the Labour party? Holding them to account before they've yet begun.

I didn't find Laura to be biased. Since this programme has aired the labour MP's have repeatedly talked about how difficult the financial situation is.

lK was heartbroken when labour won. Time for her to either reform and be a neutral journalist or head into the sunset

nobody is interested in this narritive that the news is saying "labour are suprised that its worse than they thought", most people just want a government to be honest and reliable about the choices they make. Rip the plaster off, tell us all how it is and make the steps to rectify the issues, slow progress is better than none at all.
