Majorian was definitely on the way to becoming the next auralien. Shame he had onr of the most evil men in roman history as his magister militum

Although Majorian’s decisions were probably quite justified, it is amazing to see how sometimes extremely small details have changed the course of history, like, for example, when on campaign general R. E. Lee lost his cigar which had confederate war plans wrapped around it. Union soldiers later accidentally found it lying on the ground and so Lee’s most likely victory winning move was countered by union armies.

Imagine the North Africa campaign was a Roman D-day

Those what ifs are making me sad. So many times the Empire was this close to some sort of redemption and things just didn't work out. I wonder how many close calls is our world avoiding (or not avoiding) right now.

God I wish majorian wasn't martyred the way he was. I fucking love that guy.

If you could go back in time which one would have saved Majorian or Aurelian?

It would be known as the crisis of the 5th century instead of the fall of Rome.

you should make a full timeline of what could happen, how majorian would would have dealt with the remaining barbarians and if they would stay barbarians or become roman, the slow split between Latin and greek romans and maybe reconquest. even future videos on how a full roman empire would deal with the slavic, avar, and perisan attacks/invasions after many of their defensive were destroyed! Either way keep up the great work!!!

The crucial roman expeditions to reconquer the carthaginian north african provinces! Such a key late antiquity roman factor.

People say that there are two constants in the world
Death and taxes
I say there is a third
Its Rome fighting civil wars

One thing that’s extremely baffled me of Roman times is the ludicrous amount of betrayal

What if the Majorians Western Roman Empire survived until the Rise of Islam? Would a Western Roman army with Germanic and Berber Foederati be able to relieve the Califates invasion of Africa?

belisarius made it in 6 months which eastern and western empires tried to get rid of for decades.

That's one of the biggest what-if questions in the history of civilization.

The only friends Majorian the Latin needed was Jesus Christ and Leo the Greek.

A hug to all Roman Catholics bros from love of your Eastern Orthodox bro.

Ricimer: why are you smiling, my dear dominus?!

Majorian: I have seen you were cooked by demons whom you hate. I would laugh at you.
