Another fun little fact is that if you live anywhere with any sort of rust, the threads in the rotor WILL strip. Thread on a lug nut a couple turns and grab a BFH. Works every time.

Yes, I know that one...here's a tip, one need not actually try to run the threads thru & actually pop the rotor off, many times those threads will strip out, when the bolt bottoms out contacting the rotor, snug it against the rotor...& then smack it with your dead-blow hammer. When you run that bolt down & up against the rotor, you are actually creating a fulcrum pivoting point...works every time for me.

Fun little fact about the rotors here.... make sure you remove the caliper bracket so that the rotor can release from the hub.

He must be paid by the hour. I’ve been watching this for ten minutes straight and he keeps doing the same thing over and over. That’s an $8, 000 brake job if I’ve ever seen one.

No, you tighten the bolt with a spanner then use a hammer to make the rotor ring like a bell.

Doing it his way is going to strip the thread if the rotor actually is rusted on.

hitting the rotor with a hammer always works...and it much more satisfying🙂

What size bolt? And yes I’ve been hitting it with a 5lb mini sledge 😊

When I did my first DIY brake job on my Toyota Corolla about 8 months ago, this is what I used to break the rotor free from the hub.

Fun fact. You got to take the caliper mounting bracket off before the rotor comes off

The best way is to get a couple bolts and nuts, thread through the caliper mounting holes pointing towards the rotor. Press the rotor off.

Here in Michigan we cant even tell what that hole is. Threads, HAHA not anymore! Grab a Big ol hammer. If that don't work grab the torch!!!! Man I hate rust!!

Yeah I've always just kicked the rotor when it's stuck. Always has worked and I've honestly never herd this till now. (Not a professional mechanic obviously I'm kicking rotors over here so don't tell me I'm wrong)

Fun fact: that's a waste of time. Rotors are junk. Dislodge with a hammer swing in 20 seconds.
The suspension is made for impacts there is nothing you can do with your muscles that hurt that car

Fun facts those holes in the rotor actually take Phillips screws to hold the rotor on to the hub assembly Honda LOL

Merican classic motors just have the discs with out hold down bolts...less fuss...

Another fun fact. Sometimes in the rust belt you need to cut a slot in the rotor with an angle grinder then drive a chisel in the slot to split the rotor off.
