I like how the natural diamond industry tried so hard to convince people that natural is the only way to go only to realize that they have to jump into the lab game because people are not stupid. Even if the money is there to throw at a natural, I’d still only buy the lab grown.

I really love the price comparison of the resale value. Diamonds are a huge money losing proposition if they ever need to be sold. I found it interesting that you can buy a top quality lab grown diamond, which is chemically identical to a natural diamond, lose ALL of your money if resale is $0.00, and still come out on ahead of reselling a natural diamond. This just proves the insane markup on natural diamonds. Debeers has done some fabulous marketing over the years to inflate the price of diamonds to where they are today. Reminds me a lot of Rolex...

Enough with the "laboratory made diamonds have no resale value" circus. Financial problems are one of the leading causes of divorce. Take the cost of a mined diamond, buy a nice laboratory made diamond similar in size and quality to a mined diamond for a fraction of the price, and invest the difference in a good mutual fund. You'll thank yourself 10 years later; and if your partner doesn't thank you, then be glad you didn't blow your wad on a mined diamond. If you have to buy a mined diamond in exchange for someone's love or forgiveness, then you don't need a jeweler; you need a therapist

Diamond resale is only good when you up grade and some places require you to up grade by 2 times the amount you paid. Buy what you can afford, lab or natural!
