OH! NICE REVERB SOUND 👌🏻

Reverb is generally used to create a sense of depth...

However, sometimes you might want to do the opposite 🤷🏻‍♂️

If you want the sound to seem like it's right in front of you, you can adjust the reverb settings ⚙️

Set the pre-delay time to be long, and have mostly early reflections 🎛️

This is a common technique used in many recordings, and it creates the feeling that the sound is close to you 👍🏻

The reverb itself sounds good..always wondered how to get that retro 80s verb sound 🎉🎉🎉

In my camp we just call that modest reverb. "Super cool effect" is very hyperbolic. It's more where you should/could start with your verbs. Which is very valuable when your getting started.

I find strong results when pre-delay and decay are dialed in based on the properties of the track. There is no singular place you should set those values as other factors will likely contribute to the "sweet spot".

Not putting your verbs in a bus/aux send hmmm well I guess that that dry nob has to get some use so it don't fall off.

That is nice, but I would also add in some longer tail on the end, since there is space there to hear it.

Thanks for the tip Streaky; but is this reverb plug-in directly on the vocal channel or on an FX send please? (looks like it might be on the channel itself??) Thanks

I’m starting to like everyone of your shorts to train my algorithm to feed me exclusively production stuff. I’m about to become George Martin.
