I’ve come across this video and i’m sure we can all tell he isn’t the ‘ Expert ‘ as he claims.

Coming from Tanzania
I can tell you a thing or two about Tanzanite . It is a one generation gemstone. The Mine itself is about 7 Km Long & 2 KM wide. Since mining has been on from the late 60’s no one is sure when we will actually run out of it. However, the supply has been decreasing over time especially for the deeper blues that are worth more compared to the violet.

*Tanzanite is 1000 times rarer than diamonds.*
This is a new and more unique gemstone of the century.

Its true, its a relatively softer stone compared to sapphires . But aren’t Emerald more soft and still get the hype?
With good care Tanzanite can last forever with its beauty.

I was given a 3 ct sz tanzanite 9 months ago, I wear it infrequently and I am not rough but very careful with wearing all my jewelry. I have a 16x loop which I inspect all my stones on a regular basis. Without having any knowledge of perhaps scratching the ring, I was shocked to see how scratched up this stone is. Do I have any recourse in correcting this? I am upset someone never told me how soft the stone is. It was a $4, 000 ring (diamonds around)

I enjoy your videos but was surprised on your view of Tanzanite, I don't claim to have more overall knowledge than you but I do know this gemstone & yes the paler color has little value however top grade is getting quite expensive now, a 3ct stone 20 years ago was very little now although not worth huge amount but certainly has decent value.

Ah yes. Tanzanite.. the gem that took a once proud tribe The Maasai and tranformed them into tour guides and workers beating their way into the mines. The Maasai who are loosing the younger generation to mining instead of maintaining they old ways of their own tribe. Turning a once awesome landscape into fences with armed forces and a greedy government that barely pays these poor people to work in extreme conditions.

You can be this guy reading off the web or you can be like us and actually visiting the area which was once a beautiful place with hard working people living off the land. Now there are bars and brothels.

And all for Tiffany's who actually have helped to push this once aver prices gemstone into nothing today. And they said there will never be a lab created and tanzanite is a very smart investment grade stone. Well the only way now to truly have a valuable gem is to have a GIA cert done. They are the only gems still holding any real value.
