I have a few in the 2 carat range but my goal for collecting is a 5 carart and then a 10 carat gem. I love the story of tanzanite as well as its beauty. I was so thrilled when I got my first piece of Tanzanite.

Dear Steve, I would watch you on JTV back in the late 90s to early 2000s. I am willing to bet you are likely one of the most knowledgeable and experienced gemologists regarding tanzanite in the United States today. I completely trust your judgement and views regarding this gorgeous and unique gem. I am very skeptical of online anything, but.... you are the exception. I recently purchased my dream piece of jewelry from you and am THRILLED with my purchase. I love my ring! My only remorse is not buying it sooner! That's the gospel truth. Once i am dead and gone, i will be able to leave this ring to my family. I am confudent it will only increase in value as time passes. I fiddled with gems over the years, even owned a 16.2 cushion cut piece of tanzanite which I ended up reselling and still regret doing so. I should have held onto it and let those dollars go. Alas, no changing the past but.... This ring will never leave me until my last breath! THANK YOU STEVE!! AND ALICE for facilitating my purchase. I continue to watch your YouTube shows and frequent your online shop. GORGEOUS jewelry Steve! Truly! Take care buddy!!! Your pal, Hal Clayton

Thanks for the videos! I really learned so much from you guys, and I managed to snag a top color 8.3ct Tanzanite for just $1400! Tested by a gemologist. Your site lists similar stones for $5000+. Why so expensive? I would buy from you guys but the price is honestly way too steep.

Funny, the other jewelry YouTuber said they still find lot of these stones in the mine. She posted her video about 10 mos ago. And yes, there is only one mine in the world but so far there is no shortage of the stones yet. I would say buy it if you love it. It is a beautiful stone. For jewelry investment, I would stick with metal, like gold. 18k-24k. Sorry if I have offended anyone.

I have some smaller stones in rings - they are no where near sapphire blue like yours they're more light blue with purplish tinges!

Those rough stones are HUGE …and amazingly beautiful!

Do you ever facet “diesel” (raw / un-heat-treated) stones that are still trichroic? If so, which axis is best? Blue / purple / brown?

I’ve got my wife a complete set now: 5.5 carat ring (pear shape in a diamond halo), 8.0 ctw drop earrings (semi-trillion/ pear shape), and 7.5 carat pendant.
…so I’m thinking about something like an un-heated (but still beautiful) stone.

I really like your 1000-point grading system. I’m just a retail consumer, but your “system” definitely makes sense to me and i agree with your ratings - they seem consistent and repeatable, if that makes sense. 👏🏼

How are the prices of the Fancy Tanzanites comparing to the heated ones? I would very much love a natural gem, as I already have enough of the heated colour. Do you think they will rise in price equally over time or will one overtake the other? I quite like videos like this and the one that showed the magnetism of Garnet, although I've yet to experiment on mine. Hearing you talk about gems is always of interest to myself and would enjoy more content like these videos. Not that I'm ever planning on selling my lovely Tanzanite jewellery but will be happily wearing it for as long as I'm on this earth. It is such a beautiful gem!🇦🇺💖🕊

Now is that like sapphires.? Do they also grade more toward the size of the crown in the table? Or just the overall width of the stone showing on her ring or necklace or whatever is set in?

I brought a necklace with 0.5 ct each stone for total stones of 18
Dose that consider investment? Got it for 200$ after discount

You’re asking almost $700 per carat. To me that’s way over priced.

The fact that you're saying the quality has never been better in 45 years tells me that Tanzanite isn't in short supply or that they're running out. If they were running out of supply the quality would be going down in general.
