***READ THIS!!! The material
I used was 5/8” MDF NOT 1/2”. The price is effectively the same, but a smidge thicker. My apologies to everyone who saw the initial video, I never double checked the thickness, just assumed it was 1/2”. I must have misread the labels. I used Youtube's editing tools to remove the 1/2" reference. Get 5/8" MDF instead! Thank you all for your support!***
Easy and cheap shaker cabinet doors DIY
Let me show you how to build the best cheapest shaker style cabinet doors and drawers I can come up with on a budget.
To be clear, this is not the BEST way to make cabinet doors... This is the BEST BUDGET way to make shaker cabinet doors I have been able to find.
They are made with 1/2" MDF and 5mm plywood panels. These shaker style doors look nice and are so easy to build, even a beginner can do it.
One thing I forgot to mention in the video is how careful you should be when drilling for the hinges. You’ll have about 1/16 inch left after drilling so practice and setup your forstner bit on a scrap piece of MDF. To avoid this, 3/4 inch MDF will allow you more room for those cups.
!!!!*****BUY ME A BEER*****!!!!
Did I do a good job? Buy me a drink man! I deserve it! I'm toasting to my supporters at the end of videos and would be stoked to say a toast to you!
