It stopped in the middle of the runway in Terceira island. This runway was prepared for emergency space shuttle landings. They were very fortunate to find an abnormal long runway on a small island in the middle of the Atlantic.

Yeah, that's the old US space shuttle abort landing strip. Should be long enough for even a modern airliner. I hope this data was saved into airbus' simulator system and training for the next generation.
