This is exactly what i could've needed to have heard before deciding to go freshwater as my first 3 tanks. I thought reefing was too hard and required too much, due to all the high tech setups.
But in the end, a fowler or a tank with softies and lps, would do absolutely fine with just a weekly 10-20% water change, and that's it!
I did get a saltwater tank, 29G AIO, and I also just got a 100Gal waterbox, and so far my 29G AIO requires less upkeep to look good than my 95 gallon planted freshwater tank. It takes quite regular trimming of that freshwater tank to look good, but man do i rarely have to trim corals!

Great video very informative. Personally I'd like to see a video on starting a small simple setup. I know it's been done quite a few times before but I think it would be entertaining to watch you set up somthing more out of the norm for your channel and style! Keep up the great stuff! 🙌

I didn't have the heart to re-home my freshwater tanks lol, I still keep 19 freshwater tanks, and now 2 saltwater tanks . . .

Awesome video! I started my first saltwater tank (10 gallons) with a tidal 55 HOB and nicrew marine led, some sand and rock. Alot like a freshwater tank but it didn't stay that way lol, added an ATO and Nero 3 later on.
Currently cycling a waterbox Marine 45.2, probably the nicest tank I've ever had and super excited to start a larger reef tank

I not had fish tank in long time, only ever had fresh, but I have a fragbox reef Casa all in one 12g tank on its way to me for my first reef tank now, it going to mostly be a coral tank for lps like Micromussa lords, and some mushrooms 🥰🐶 I might get some firework cloves and Duncan’s at the begining to start with to make sure my lights are at right strength and tank is ready, but those 2 types would also add a little bit of movement 🥰🐶🍻

Sound advice.
The hardest part is just committing to that initial transition. Once you start, just stick to it. You will screw things up at the start, we all do. And you learn from there

If I have a 190l tank and I want to transition it to a saltwater tank will I need a whole new filter system aswell or will the one I have do?

I have 1, 000 questions but I will start with one. Do all the same chemicals we see in freshwater, also show up in salt water? Ie. The nitrogen cycle? Ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, etc. Are there others we’re concerned about too?

How would you fit a tunze protein skimmer inside a cover tank with glass bracing around the inside edges
