Seeing Star Wars footage without any of the famous music is kind of weird.

I remember walking out of some other movie as a young teenager and seeing the cardboard cutouts and posters in the lobby for the upcoming "Star Wars" movie. Just looking at C3PO and R2D2, Chewbacca and the rest I said "This is the dumbest looking movie!" I couldn't have been less impressed.

When we saw the movie some time later, I walked out of the theater thinking to myself: "That was the greatest movie I've ever seen!"

How many movie trailers make such massive claims.. and actually succeed in surpassing all of them. This trailer is literally slowly telling us "This is the best thing ever" and then actually turns out to be the best thing ever. Classy

I remember this trailer, being captivated by Luke and Princess Leia swinging across the chasm. When I saw the film, I was so captivated in that universe that I came to view the theater as a powerful place where that universe lived. It stayed at the Burford Theater for 40 weeks!! Eventually they started letting me in for free.

In 1977, somewhere in space, all of this could've happened right now... And once we took a look for ourselves, it changed filmmaking forever.

Godspeed, Star Wars. You were just the New Hope cinema needed back then, and though things look very murky, you'll live on in our heart forever.

In all honesty, I don't remember ever seeing this trailer and did not know a single thing about Star Wars before I went out with friends for pizza and a movie one glorious night in the Summer of '77. I'm pretty sure we went back the next day and saw it again...and again...and again. Even waiting in line for hours and hours was all a part of the adventure. Still my favorite movie of all time. May the Force be with you!

Greatest teaser trailer period., I don't think anyone back then would foresee this becoming the iconic franchise it is now after watching this teaser., but it was this teaser trailer that was the beginning of a phenomenon called star wars., , .
