A lot of Wrangler jeans use broken twill denim. Those jeans you called rough and heavy become the softest, most comfortable jeans imaginable after a few months.

The 13MWZ is supposed to be tighter in the waist so help keep shirts tucked in, and also so that when they stretch over time with use, they don’t stretch out too much. Wash once hang dry then wear them for a while before washing again and they “break in” I basically exclusively wear the 13MWZ

First off great video, Wranglers are hands down one of the most tough jeans around with their old fashioned riveted construction, But the sizing can be a bit tricky, so I decided to do extensive research into how these things are sized and how to get the right fit.

What I've found out, is that "Cowboy Cut" isn't a fit as in (Streight cut) (Relaxed cut) ect. But just a name for the collection. The 13mwz is a high rise regular seat thigh and knee with a straight leg. With regards to sizing, I've also found that as you go up in size (Waist size), the thigh/Hip or seat. Increases by 1/2 inch.

So I recommend you messure your seat and thigh, and natural waist, and then determine which type of cowboy cut you need. They have Original 13mwz, slim936, and Relaxed fit in the cowboy cut collection.

This is how I do it, the size charts provided by wrangler in the cowboy cut collection, are based off the Original 13mwz. when you messure your hip size find the number that matches yours, and know that if you choose a slim fit, subtract 1 inch from the Hip, and add 1 if relaxed from whichever waist size you are on the chart.

You however probably need to size up to a 32, in a 936 slim, which will have the waist you want, and the hip size you need.

Example, your size a 31 waist, if you got a 32 waist in the slim fit. the hips/seat would be the same as a 31 in original fit, also the thighs would be a bit slimmer also.

hope this helps bro.

On Cowboy Cut, once you find a size/length that's just right order one size larger and longer because they're going to shrink on the first wash. I have to order a 36/40 to get the proper size. Speaking of washing, turn them inside out and in COLD water with a cup of white vinegar. Hang dry and heavy starch with a crease. Wear them often and wash only when needed. I work on a horse ranch and live in a small rural town in Texas. This is how I've been wearing Wranglers for 30+ years.

Dude I really enjoyed this video. You did a great job of modeling the jeans, as well as describing them. You had some awesome shots of the black socks-which by the way look awesome, especially coming out of the bottom of the jeans, and going in and out of the boots. It was great to see two different pair of boots in this video too!

I thought 13MWZ was the best thing in the world until I tried their Premium Performance Cowboy Cut. They are amazingly thick and strong. Probably more than 13MWZ, but they are prewashed or stone washed so they are way softer, also 100% cotton so there is no give in them and they are still amazingly comfortable..

I love the 31mwz the relaxed fit is amazing

You have to try on every single pair before you buy. No two 13mwz fit identical. It's crazy. One pair of 34x36 will be so tight you can't get them on and the next one fits just right.

Cowboy cuts are essentially the old school 100% cotton jeans we all had prior to the stretch jeans becoming popular. They start out super stiff but once you've broken them in they are the best. Being 100% cotton they will shrink (more so then other materials). In my experience the waist doesn't alot but the legs will so you'd probably be better off longer. Also they are a stackable boot cut so the material will stack on your boot more and less in your legs as the material softens. I do agree the sizing is weird only the past year or 2. Idk if it's a difference in who's making them or what the story is there. The shirts have been weird also.

You really look great in the 13mwz. Maybe it's just not too comfortable but the look is amazing

Does Amazon want to literally destroy everything retail out there? Its going to come to a point where we will all have nothing to go to and be bored out of our minds because stores and small businesses closed up do to Amazon taking every inch. What a shame. Other than that, great vid.

I always get 13mwz Rigid indigo. Last the longest and fade nicely.

The tighter jeans suit me and will stretch as you wear them then go tighter after the wash. Wear them a few hours then they stretch to fit well. I luv the heavyweight cowboy rodeo jeans. They last really well and last twice as long as levi 501.

Walmart has the cheap wranglers with not much branding or anything as well as rustlers which are basically work jeans. I use both for work. When I’m feeling classy I’ll throw on nice wranglers, rock and roll denims, etc. rock and roll denim is definitely a pair of jeans checking out if you haven’t already. But back to the wranglers, if you have a local Cabela or Bass pro or a bootbarn or something like that they all usually carry cowboy cut wrangler as well as wrangler retro

I've heard the seat needs to be tight for horseriding. I may be wrong but another side effect is that it makes everyones butts look good. :)

Really awesome video man, it was really well detailed and entertaining. I was really struggling with jeans for my boots until I found this video. I’m looking for the exact same fit and cut you were describing so Thank you for posting this.

This helped a lot. The cowboy cut actually looks very tailored (not tight in odd areas) on you compared to the other ones. Thanks!

Casey wears the retro slim bootcuts and slim cowboy cut. The trad cowboy cut won’t shrink up it’s a tight weave true denim wear as dept store wranglers are just jeans and most people think those words are interchangeable but they really aren’t. Pre 1960 yes all jeans were a true denim which is a completely different style of looms and weave!

I have worn Wrangler jeans for years. Since the Cowboy Cut have no stretch factor ....you need to size up to fit. Their slim cut version fit snugger on flat butts and fighter around your upper legs. The Retro Wrangler slim jeans have stretch and some even add polyester to help to fit snugger to the butt and legs but with the retros I can go down even in the waist sizing which helps the jeans to fit snigger on the butt and legs without the denim being baggy. The same jeans are much more expensive here in Canada.
