Honestly his experience doesn’t surprise me or anyone with darker skin. When they only deal with certain people or colors, darker tones aren’t normally included. Tanner Koreans have also said they have trouble finding their color and usually have to settle for lighter colors because of the beauty standards. It’s sad, but I’ve seen a video where this African women has a makeup startup in Korean for darker people and I think it’s awesome he should try out her line.

i'm korean but I have darker skin compare to "korean standard beauty" that even I get annoyed by it. Honestly, I used to wear the wrong kind of shade like white. I put it into my face and my neck only, but my hand skin tone didn't match with my face XD Finally, I move to Malaysia for my work and I'm so happy when I found out they have every single shade of foundation here. Which one you want, they have it. I think that's what Korea needs to learn though. This "All Korean skin color is pale" is b*shit

It definitely has to do with very limited tone range. Good luck finding even medium to tan toned foundations in Korea.

However for makeup artists working on models who are very diverse it's unacceptable not to build a large range of skintone foundations.

I've always gone back and forth from tan to pale but I now have vitiligo so now I have two shades on my body.. at first it wasn't on my face but now it's migrated there so I have to find a really full coverage foundation that will cover EVERYTHING and it's really difficult. Sometimes I have to use two foundations then a concealer and all kinds of things to make my face look even

Blaming Korean make up artist for not having such dark shade is like going to a regular workshop n being angry that they don't have parts for your muscle car. As much as they want to be inclusive, they themselves have very limited access to this shade and it's very rare for them to work with such skin tone.
