This is the exact setup I was looking for. Had configured mine the same way, but for a bulky laptop stand. The arm, generating more space underneath, makes me resign from a desk shelf and go for the arm. Cheers Matthew!

Little late to the party but I discovered that the reason why the monitor sometimes doesn't switch back to the MacBook is because the KVM times out after 8 seconds, but takes 12 seconds to reconnect to the MacBook after the Mac wakes from a sleep state. Otherwise, it only takes 2-3 seconds to connect to the MacBook. It can be worked around by putting the PC to sleep first, giving the monitor nothing back to switch to during the timeout period. I've contacted support and hopefully they can provide a fix in a future firmware update.

I recently built a 5800X, RTX 3080 PC, and I will buy the base model Macbook Pro 14 M2 Pro when it comes out. I will primarily be using the PC for gaming and longer work sessions at home, while i'll use the Macbook for school and work on the go. For most people having just the macbook is probably perfectly fine, but for me, I prefer not having to hook it up to a seperate moniter, since it can only output 60hz.

Hi! I've been trying to do something similar and the question I have is regarding your UGreen switch - How is that connected to the PC/Macbook and the Caldigit hub and the display? Are you still able to run external drives on the Mac at Thunderbolt 4 speeds despite the switch being a USB 3.0 switch only and is limited to 5GB/s? Thanks!

Does the Cal Digit TS3 support dual monitors in 144hz? 1440 p resolution for me. Not for 4k

I feel like you’d be more comfortable with the older logitech g pro, where u can change the “thumb” buttons to the other side. (My brother is lefthanded.)
