I love oral Tx acid once a year in the fall for 3 months to eliminate the melasma that always ramps up during the summer. Seems to be the most effective for me compared to all the other many treatments I’ve undergone and maintenance like hydroquinone and clear & brilliant. But yes, most derms hesitate to prescribe it.

Please 86 the music throughout the video. It’s very distracting. Thank you.

I've only just discovered you through Claudia Glows and oh my gosh, you're videos have been a god send! I've always had beautiful skin (told to me by others over the decades) but hit Perimenopause two years ago and my age has definitely caught up with my skin. You've really helped me change up my skincare routine. Sending love from the UK xx

What can I do for broken capillaries?? I’d did 3 sessions of Vbeam laser with a very renowned dermatologist and it did absolutely nothing 😢

Thank you for this video, Dr. Kappel. You mentioned at the end of the video to be careful with at-home devices. I have the Omnilux red light therapy mask. Does red light and near infrared light cause melasma to worsen? At the end of the 10 minute mask session, there is a slight warmth that is generated by the mask. Does this warmth affect melasma? Some dermatologists on YouTube say it does but some say there is no conclusive evidence that it does. What is your expert opinion on this? Thank you so much!

Love the video!! Could you do a video on skincare for kids? I have a 4 year old and besides sunscreen I’m clueless about her skincare.

Hi, I really appreciate the information you share with us and am happy I found your channel. I was wondering even if you don't wear make-up if there's a makeup removal product you recommend or what we should avoid in them? Thank you :)

Dr. Kappel, thank you for your thorough explanation of this problem and your many recommended treatments. I'm wondering if refrigerating the vitamin C serum would help preserve it?

Love your videos. Can you do a VIDEO about HAIR REMOVAL devices PLEASE? I get discolorations from plucking those little unwanted hairs. I want to do hair removal on my face, but I’m not fair skinned. I look like a Fitz III but I’m a IV. I have heard there are new devices that work for those pesky middle aged chin hairs that can work on a wide range of skin tones.

Dr K I really want you to do a real in depth vid on treatment of darker skins (F 4 & 5) for melasma/hyperpigmentation with lasers. I had a few rounds of clear & brilliant & pico & I saw some results but still have very stubborn patches esp on forehead & under eyes.

Yes! I have mature tan, combo oily skin. Ive used Australian Gold tinted spf 50 for years. Im going to try ColorScience tinted flex in combination with their powder sunscreen . Hoping the flex can act as my daily foundation .
Ive used Timeless Vit C for years and will splurge and try Skinceuticals. Ive also upgraded my Tret strength to 0.1 % . My derm just gave me a Rx for blended HQ to ease into it. She said Fall is a good time to try it with shorter days and cooler weather. Down the line i will try Clear and Brilliant or Fraxel.
I know this will cost $, but ive spent too much $ with over the counter products that have not worked.

Can LED masks give your milasma or hyperpigmentation? I got some when I was using a mask and I don’t know if it was just a coincidence…❤❤

I've followed professionals advice, using the skincare they prescribe and now I'm.not only battling pigmentation, but damaged skin, enlarged pores, texture, loss of collagen 😢

A certain dr on yt (Berg) claims that Zinc will get rid of your spots... I'm getting a crazy amount of hyperpigmentation on my whole body, arms, hands, even parts of my body that don't see the Sun... I'm trying hydroquinone now :(

Sorry to ask the question here but if I wanted to get my nursing license so I can start my journey in cosmetic aesthetics, is there a recommended program? I understand there’s aesthetic certifications that follow after but to acquire the RN license do you recommend a specific school? I’m worked too many years behind a desk as a human resources specialist. I’m 50 and moving to Arizona. I hope it’s not too late.
