pops was a weather guy for avteg from the late 90s to early gwot. lots of cool stories. I remember we werent allowed to really talk about it. Couldnt have yellow ribbons or speak of deployment. Had an encrypted phone in our laundry room. Cool as a little booger flicker growing up.

Videos, etc about 160th SOAR are easy to find. The challenge is finding ANYTHING about the Army's other, darker aviation SMU (Special Mission Unit). For a while they were known as Flight Concepts, then Aviation Test Directorate, now who knows? Pretty sure they're based in the Ft Eustis area, perhaps at Felker AAF.
