Everywhere I look during this pandemic, I see leadership vacuums which are resulting in unnecessary deaths. The actions of Captain Crozier exemplify courageous and ethical leadership. The history books will treat Captain Crozier very well.

The carrier had infected soldiers on it for over a week. He had already been trying through official channels to get help from chain of command and very little was coming. Rather than sacrifice soldiers in peace time, he wrote that memo to get some attention to the life and death situation. Appalling that people like him and emergency room doctors complaining about lack of life saving PPE are getting fired in this pandemic. They are heroes!

Wow. He's got guts. But more importantly, he has the total respect of over 5000 men on his ship. He left with his head up, looking toward the future. Which all of us realize is going to be filled with many many offers. He and his family won't have to worry about finances from here on out, thats for sure.
