Howdy Folks!

The second part of my Grimdark Painting Fundamentals Series is another introduction video where I will be discussing the basics of the reductive technique that I heavily use in my version of the Grimdark painting style. The main topic in this video will be on the usage of Acrylic Inks/Washes and Enamel Products. (mostly acrylics)

Really opened my eyes to what is possible in painting. Gotten very tired of the 'Eavy metal look most painters go for. This is some next level stuff in terms of getting the right (in my opinion) atmosphere for the grim dark setting of 40k.
Thank you

It's nice to see someone else using products and techniques commonly used by the "armor" community with tabletop gaming miniatures! I've been using weathering pigments, oil/enamel washes, etc. for years - I'm surprised more people haven't caught onto using them!

I really really really love the way you approaching painting models. Love the reality in colouring, the grim and dark finish of the models.

Thank you for opening a whole new range of paints to me. :)
I would like to see something shiny like a Grey Knight of some sort. Getting the grim dark paint on without overdoing it to retain the shinyness and the "knightly style" of the silver armour and the model.
Looking forward to the next vid.

Excellent video. I have used some of these tools and avoided others, but nice to see them all used in one video to compare and contrast. Going to have to do some experimenting of my own.

Hey wow thanks for posting these up. I am returning to the hobby after a 22 year hiatus but am quite experienced in other art forms. While I wont be following you step by step this was incredibly inspiring and wow you know your business sir. That dirty washed out watercolour approach is precisely what I was looking for.

Incredible. I've never heard of anyone backing out an acrylic wash with alcohol. Can't wait to try it.
