Now that prices are lower you can buy some good NVMes very cheap....

To summarize:
- Working with large 4K/8K videos, compressing and transferring very large files, go for the NVME.
- For gaming, the difference is virtually inexistant, so save your money and go with SATA.
As long as it's an SSD it's a world better than a spinning HDD...

The file copy difference is stunning. So if You need to upgrade to a large SSD disk then choose a (slightly more expensive) NVME.

First time in my life i've seen a transfer speed that reach GB/s. I really enjoy playing heavily modded Skyrim and i think NVMe will be super helpful

You could have used the WD Blue SN550 Nvme drive to compare, which typically costs the same as the M.2 SATA drive...

I kinda get the confusion, while the title is true, I'm actually looking for budget vs premium nvme like say Crucial p1 vs Samsung 970 evo but this is close enough. If even SATA load speed doesn't different much from premium nvme, budget nvme would have negligible difference.
