What is the difference between MIDI and AUDIO recording?

In this video, I explain the difference between recording MIDI information using a keyboard, and recording the actual audio of your keyboard or piano.

MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) allows two digital devices to communicate, and send data (information about what note is played and how hard) from one device to the other. A MIDI keyboard can send note information to a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) via a MIDI cable or USB cable and control a virtual instrument.

As well as an explanation, I provide a practical example of the difference between MIDI and audio by recording my keyboard using both an audio recorder and a MIDI instrument.

The main practical difference is that MIDI is way easier to edit than audio.
