As an adult, I described my mom as a hand grenade with the pin pulled and I had to tip toe around to try to keep it from exploding in my face. My two recurring childhood dreams were expressions of how unsafe I felt in the world.

What really helped was Eckhart teaching me that people can only behave at their level of consciousness. 🙏

I work at a gas station and let me tell you, I see every kind of person. It can be very challenging to stay in a positive awake mind. Some days it sends me so far back.

After a lifetime of destructive emotional abuse, I finally went no-contact with my narcissistic family system (parents and brother). I couldn't do it another day! I've since been able to (for the most part) work through the harmful rumination that came with such a decision and I'm finally beginning to experience some inner-healing and peace. Thanks for letting me share.

Ive been following Eckhart for years, and I still use drugs or alcohol to still my mind. It is still stronger than I am. I am still highly antagonistic towards the present moment. If it wasn’t for my mom, I would’ve ended my life this year. I listen to Eckhart daily, and he’s still a boon in my stormy tumultuous existence. One day, I’ll get there. I’ll “make it” to use Eckharts least favorite western quote. lol.

I remember i felt relief when my mother died. I felt guilt for feeling that way but later both the guilt and relief dropped away and i saw her as being human.

Practicing acceptance and forgiveness has helped me deal with my mothers habbit of talking bad about my father to me. She sees herself as a victim. I have set a boundary around thos behavior. I ask her to stop and if she does'nt i leave. I still love her.

Anybody out there who's looking for true love must know exactly what they're looking for in a person, because if they don't know, they are not going to find the right partner. Personally I was always looking for someone spiritual and someone who was not trapped in their ego or consumed by their painbody, but it just wasn't working out for me in my hometown. Though I never lost hope and always had an open eye while reading people's comments on youtube, and eventually I found my partner on this very channel, which has done wonders for me and my girlfriend who'd been in toxic relationships before and were at the stage of knowing what type of person we wanted to be with and what kind of person to stay clear of. So, a big thank you to Eckhart Tolle and his YouTube channel for not only helping us find eachother, but for helping us understand and deal with our own individual problems of our pasts. Much love!

If someone tells me that I should continue to accept a person who has been psychologically terrorizing me for 20 years, I will say that he should try to endure it even for one year! Not even hours of meditation helped me with this. Maybe he should have meditated, but that never happened. It's a shame, I tried, but sometimes we change the other person more when we leave him ❤ 😊

I do my best to remember that people are doing the best they can with the knowledge and resources they have. Sometimes though people do things that harm others because they benefit from it and I have a problem with that. They would be furious to be on the receiving end of their own behaviour, but they still dish it out. These people know better and just don't care. Right now, we live in a culture that rewards them for harmful behaviour and we need to look at that, both collectively and individually. Since money plays an over-important role, maybe people should be fined according to their income when they take another person't choices away.

I try to listen to people through the body, not the words spoken. Words seem to really trip us up, and we often use familiar words or phrases because they are readily available, but I think that can add fuel to a fire.
We had stress with our adult son yesterday but a long hug really helped to turn the negative energy around, giving us an opening to connect and remember our shared humanity. I liked what ET said about not having expectations from others, which just feels like pressure or manipulation for that person. So true.

As I became more self-aware, I also became more sensitive. I find it difficult to tolerate unconscious behavior from others and sometimes struggle to remove myself from such situations especially with family.

Even if you get rid of them, wherever you go, there they are.

Books I highly recommend besides all of Eckhart Tolle’s books, 😎
Boundaries by Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend also the book Stop walking on Eggshells by Paul T. Mason and Randi Kreger, these books were recommended to me by my amazing therapist she specialized in EMDR therapy and it worked wonders for me, drastically reducing the amount of crippling panic attacks I would experience.
God Bless all who may be reading this! 💖🙌🙏

the part where he talked about a person's ego vs being really resonated with me. I also grew up with parents who were heavy (too heavy) on the ego.
