Thanks for reminding me to choose faith over fear and to respond rather than react to many of life's situations Eckhart! 💜

Three days ago, my husband left me after 62 years of marriage. During the days when he was preparing to leave for an indefinite period of time, I was fully present. A valuable experience.
Thank you for everything. Good luck. And that was all I said to him when I said goodbye.

When you awake spiritually, it's not the end of challenges.
They keep coming.
But you no longer transform the challenges into unhappiness.
You are no longer a dissatisfied person with the background of discontent, irritation and insufficiency.

Thanks Eckhart. 20 January 2024.🌻🌻🌻🌻🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌿🌿🌿🌿🦋🦋🦋

When they said she was going crazy, she was awakening.
When they said that she was isolating, she was healing.
When they said she was acting funny, she was growing.
When they said that she had changed, she was evolving.
When they said she did not care anymore, she finally realized that her peace lives within.

When they said he was becoming distant, he was learning to trust himself.
When they said he was losing touch, he was finding his inner voice.
When they said he was being stubborn, he was asserting his boundaries.
When they said he was aloof, he was finding solitude and serenity.
When they said he was being unrealistic, he was dreaming bigger.

It's not what happens to you, it's how you choose to respond to it or not. Circumstances don't matter, only state of being matters.

I found that the most compelling part of this video was when he talked about the 'narratives' that we create around different situations...particularly like when we are on hold waiting for a customer service rep...or when we are in a long line at the airport. Like many people, I get very irritated in such instances, and it's not because I'm impatient or that I'm not capable of waiting for things. In my instance, it's because I'm ruminating and getting angry over WHY I'm waiting so long.

So like, when it comes to customer service, I'm disgusted that so many American conglomerates outsource their customer service, all so that company leadership can better line their own pockets. They pay the workers in Asia, or in Latin America, far far less money. They pretend to value their employees, and they pretend to value their customers, even though clearly none of this is true. And in the end, the customers end up getting poor customer service. As I always say to the reps on the other end, I'm not upset with you; I'm upset with your management. And in the case of long lines at the airport, especially the security check, it bothers me (especially on the US end) that so much of the security is mere theatre (particularly since 9-11) and the haphazard rules they've instituted such as 'no containers larger than 3 oz', 'take off your shoes' etc. So yeah, stuff like that really bothers me. But at the same time, I was struck by what Tolle said about the 'narrative', because in fact, that is the crux of why I get so irritated. It's not the waiting, in and of itself. Hmmm....

When I'm faced with a challenge and I don't know how to respond to it, a lesson in A Course in Miracles helps me. But when I see Echart in my mind, my heart skips a beat.
The presence and acceptance of what is creates a miracle.
