It’s funny he brought up proficiency in giving a speech… I homeschool my kids and they started giving presentations at 4 years old (check out Classical Conversations, it’s the best). My 10 year old this year gave a 1 minute presentation on Ben Franklin, after he wrote a fused outline with 3 sources, and a rough draft and final draft. (Institute for Excellence in Writing, or IEW. AMAZING program). He wrote it and we edited it together. I was so proud. He presented in front of 100+ people and did a fantastic job. And he’s in 4th grade.
